I had it after shoulder surgery. I went for a month of physical therapy and it helped. I am fine now with no problems.

My mum was in hospital this week for a shoulder injury (that's another story though) and the woman sharing her room had two frozen shoulders. She was having surgery on her left one, the right had already been done.

The cause is unknown but treatments include massage, physio, cortisone injections and rest. Hope it all goes well for you.

My wife's shoulder froze after surgery, probably because they (wife and PT) weren't doing the therapy right.

They put her under, and unfroze it with a crowbar, or pry bar, or hammer, or something. She then came out, in as much pain as the original surgery, and had to re-do the entire PT routine.

The only thing that helped at all was physical therapy.
