When he let the Roman solders nail him to the cross and said "It is finished" it was!
Every thing God created is done and over. He hasn't changed his mind about anything. He has set into motion every thing that is or ever will be.
The only thing that changes that for you is your own will.
"his literature" you refer to in you question, was changed by man, not God.
His love for you will always remain the same. Isn't that all that really matters?

Its a little thing called "plot advancement". Happens in all books. Over the course of the text, things change, move, and advance. Same with the scriptures.

It is a library of 66 books that contain the records of hundreds of people who encountered God. To one God may have to say "Shape up or ship out" and to the next "I love you just the way you are". No contradiction in those - just different people in different situations to whom God has to speak differently to show his love.

As the plot advances, God introduces laws and rituals to demonstrate to people their need for a savior and to show them who he will be and how he will work.

As the plot reaches it end, that savior appears and accomplishes what was promised. After that, there is no need for rituals to point to his coming, so instead the rituals are changed to point back to his accomplishments. God did not change his mind, rather he fulfilled his plan.

When you read all of the book, it is easy to find all of the answers.
