No. Always use a mild doggie shampoo. Human shampoo is never recommended for dogs, even baby shampoo.

yes i have 4 goldens and i bathe them once a month with pantene, but you don't want to use it all the time because it will dry the skin. if you do use it make sure that you use a mild conditionor for the skin. after you bathe him you can use skin-so-soft so that the skin doesn't get to dry. i use the skin-so-soft every other week when i bathe my dogs. it keeps the skin from drying out and makes the coat feel soft, just don't add to much , you will make the coat look greasy. in between baths use a baby shampoo like (johnson&johnson) a very mild soap for the skin and coat. i use that all the time. also to if you can't seem to get rid of dry skin try looking at th food that you are feeding. food had alot to do with what you have to wash your dog in. especially goldens they have very sensitive skin and bathing him in pantene all the time will dry the skin. you can use it every so often is ok. good luck.

First get a good Oatmeal shampoo! And a conditioner! It will help tons with grooming! As pups they do not need to be washed often! Once a month is all that is necessary and be careful of getting water in their ears! My Golden are in all kinds of water from my pool to the lake to the ocean. Precautions must be taken for each place! The ocean with the salt, you should hose off the dog very well after each time it swims. If you don't then the salt will build up on the fur and skin and cause sever irritation and you have skin issues! Dry the dog off very well too! Look after it's ears and underbelly! Lake swimming should also be done the same with rinsing the dog off very well! clean it's ears and with a lake I find that shampooing you need to do it 2 times a month. Lake water has more algae in it and it can cause real problems with fur and skin. Again dry the dogs off very well, check ears too! If your in your pool then you need to rinse the dog off right after the swim is done! Check ears! dry off very well. If you follow these simple things you can not only avoid and kind of skin problems but ear problems too! Have fun with your Golden! If you have any other questions then my e-mail is open to help!

I have bred and shown Golden Retrievers for the past 20 yrs and I can tell you for certain it is fine to use those shampoos. We would use panteen alot for touch up bathing before ring time. Any human shampoo is completely safe on dogs. We use mousse and gel and hair spray on the dogs. Human shampoo is alot cheaper also. So wash away with pantene it is a good shampoo.

If you are in a pinch it's ok as long as you rinse the dog well. If your dog has any allergies or skin sensitivities I would only use something recommended by your vet. Human shampoos can dry the dog's coat and skin so it shouldn't be used often dog shampoos are best, a baby shampoo would be better than other human stuff in a pinch, more gentle; and don't get any in their eyes.

Absolutely not. You vet will tell you that human shampoos contain ingredients that aggravate a dogs skin and in some cases dogs are highly allergic to. There are dogs shampoos on the market that smell every bit as good as either of those and make their coat just as soft.

No. Use a dog shampoo. Human shampoo is to harsh for a dogs skin, especially a water dog. It will take the natural oils out of his skin.

Absolutely not. The human shampoo is of a different pH than dog shampoo. It's not formulated for dogs and therefore might cause itching, allergic reaction or sensitivity.

NO NO NO, only Salon Select or PAul Mitchell. Nothing that costs less that $50 a bottle.

Or you can take him to the car wash and leave the windows open.**
