A few minutes ago I read a question about a supposedly (I don't know as I haven't researched it) true stroy of a 13 yr. old girl denied a passport so that she could have an abortion. This child was pregnant by her own father. All of you guys kept saying "it isn't the baby's fault". That makes me SO sad, literally. What I would like to know, is how was it this child's fault (at 13, that is what she is), and WHO is protecting her? You say you protect life, and children. Why don't you choose to protect this 13 yr. old child from an incestous pregnancy? If she decides that an abortion is what she wants, it should be given to her. She is a child as well, is she not? And, it certainly wasn't her fault either. I can completely understand a pro-lifer's take on abortion as birth control. But in a rare situation like this, or if a mother's life is in danger, I just cannot understand why you think you should be able to say that a woman cannot end a pregnancy.

PaulCyp: It may not be a moral solution to you, but morally, it really only matters how this little girl feels, she does not have to abide by your morals, as SHE is not YOU.

Bonsai Bobby: That is a very beautiful story, and I am glad that you were so understanding with your wife in the horrible situation she put you in. My mother considered abortion while pregnant with me, my grandfather's idea. However, even knowing that my life could have been denied, there are still SOME situations when I can say that abortion is an option that should be left open. Thank you for sharing your story, I really think YOU are probably a deeply caring person.

(WARNING EXTREME SARCASAM WITHIN)

because all babies lives are sacred and trump the lives of the mother.

adoption is a complete solution. there is not a foster home of state funded housing facility in the country that has more that 2 people waiting to be adopted and thoes are very recent and they are just waiting on the paperwork to be finished to get them into loving homes.

all that media coverage of people that get 12 and 13 adopted kids and cage them and treat them badly is clearly fiction.

and it is the fault of the 13 year old. she should have made her bigger stronger perverted father use birth control. or have been on the pill herself is she was determined to live this kind of life.

every life is sacred,

unless that person grows up to be a doctor, then we can bomb their clenic.

and if they grow up to be a non-christian we can shun them and
condemn them to hell.

and if they choose to be Muslim we can make fun of them and pick on them untill they move out of our community.

but please do not forget, it is not you that we hate, it is your sin...
we love you, and as soon as you are just as perfect as us you will be welcomed back to us and this wil never be spoken of again,(in public at least)

Psychic Cat,

You seem to have missed the very large note at the top of this answer. the one that says (WARNING EXTREME SARCASAM WITHIN)

I am actually pro choice all of the way.

as a man i believe that it is not my choice to make.

if asked for my opinion i would usually say have it and then try to find a good home. but it is still your choice.

Sad situation, if it is true (I haven't researched it either).

You answered your own question really - she is a child (though you say woman near the end) and children can not make a decision on their own. Age of majority in the US is 18, up until the child turns 18 they are considered minors and can not make any life-altaring decision.

Should this story be true, then the authorities in her country should get involved and arrest the father on charges of Obscenity, statatory rape, and harm to a child.

The pregnant child should be removed from her home and placed in the custody of the authorities and given the best prenatal care than is available.

Aborting the unborn baby is not an option. Why kill someone for a crime they didn't commit?

As for why I don't choose to protect the 13 year old - well, it isn't up to me, I do not know her, her family, or anything about her - I can not protect what I don't know about.

I know this isn't an easy answer to read, and will not be liked by many people, but you can not make exceptions without all the facts, which we certainly do not have. So based on the facts that I do have, this is my answer.

If you happen to find more information, please post and let me know - perhaps I will amend my answer.

One of the problems is that SOME people, once they take a stand for or against something, allow absolutely no room for exceptions to THEIR rule. Yes, it's very sad. A little 13 year old having her father's baby! I wonder if she's even able, physically, to go through the pregnancy & birth, & think of the horrible future this imposes on her. I wonder, too, who is protecting HER? You can't understand why people think they have a right to say a woman can't end a pregnancy, because it's totally absurd. IT IS NO ONE ELSE'S BUSINESS. Most of these same people are adamantly for the death penalty, (otherwise known as premeditated murder), when after it's too late--it's discovered that the person was innocent. Whatever happened to LOGICAL MORALITY? Whatever happened to logic? I didn't see the question you refer to, but you very articulately made your point. 100%. Mine is supposed to be the first answer, but I'll bet you a cookie there are going to be swarms of answers before mine. I'm ready with my "thumb." THANK YOU for a very wise & thoughtful question.

EDIT: Good grief! chris j--the baby "trumps" the life of the mother. On what premise is this based? & the 13 year old should have had birth control? Sure. "Hey, Dad, don't forget to put on the condom." I can't stand it. As for Dumb Dave, a good nickname. He assumes the question was made up by a sick mind? & as for POINTS; you don't "get" points when you ask a question, you get them taken away. I think I'll have a brandy & get the bad taste out of my mouth.

I was adopted, thankfully before the abortion craze had been so popularized.

A friend of mine has a daughter named Sarah..Sarah celebrated her 11th birthday just today!! She is a beautiful young girl and I,though not her father, love her very much, and see her almost every day. You see, 11 years and 6 months ago I talked her mother out of seeking an abortion. The circumstances of this pregnancy were also not ideal. The mother was my wife, who had an affair with another man.

The issue at hand is the fact that most of the people participating in these forums don't have a clue. Many enter for the sole purpose of humor and getting a rise out others who use this forum for it's intended purpose. I'm sure that question was one thought up by a sick mind rather than being a factual incident.

I wish they would get rid of the point system and leave the forum as is . Points are worthless and only hurt the forum. This was another attempt to get points.

Well because we choose or are forced to live in a hierarchical society we no longer have freedom. Our bodys have become the property of the insane power hungry pschopaths who run this crazy world. We not longer have rights as rights have been slaughtered by governments and their various religious establishment allies. There are two main wars going on
1. the war against the individuals freedom of movement and freedom of thought.
2. the war against nature, the christain idea of subduing the earth.
Everything else, every mention of democracy, the public good, gods and all the rest are just lies to cover this process.

there's a superbly produced documentary approximately this from "the invention Channel," spoke of as "Why canines Smile and Chimpanzees Cry." It was once on YouTube in 5, 10 min. areas yet have been given pulled for words of use violation. it is so touching & eye beginning off. The link in basic terms has a quick clip, yet this one hundred min. show could be somewhat worth alongside with into any video library. I watch it over & over and nevertheless cry & snigger. My end is that animals do have thoughts, no rely how rudimentary. however the better primates that talk have astounded me. My widespread part of this documentary is while a chimp mom who had a nevertheless born toddler, delivers convenience to her care taker while she reveals out that her absence replaced into b/c she had lost her very own human toddler. (earlier, chimp had avoided her b/c they do in comparison to care takers leaving on holidays that dissatisfied their time-honored on a regular basis existence.) yet this chimp immediately replied with compassion as quickly by using fact the care taker had signed her motives for being long previous see you later. time-honored shunning is a few days. Her's replaced into in basic terms some seconds after listening to the information.

What is sad is a person justifying the murder of one child at the convenience of another.

The baby can be adopted out, and the birth mother can be counseled regarding the incest, and the father prosecuted. But the baby that is aborted ceases to exist.

Why does someone's "choice" get to deny the right to life of another human being?

But abortion does not save her life, while robbing the life of another helpless angel. Abortion will only encourage more incest, more inhuman pleasures, more irresponsible parental relations...
The just law cannot advocate abortion, but it should prevent incest, protecting the kids, providing better education for a more decent and orderly society. Here are only personal opinions, but the wise legislators must have their responsibilty to seek best measures for a civilized society.

I have to agree with you. It amazes me how the pro-lifers have such a narrow view on things. It is either black or white to them. No in between. It may not be the fetus' fault, however, how do you think that child will feel when it is born and spends it's entire life knowing that his/her mother is also his/her 'half sister'. That his/her father is also his/her 'grandfather'. Sick....
