I dont think it hurts as bad as you think...otherwise it wouldn't be the most popular place to get a tattoo amongst young women, I dont agree with the term "tramp stamp" they are very mainstream, but not tramp stamps because everyone who has them aren't tramps and most tramps I know have NO tattoos (sorry had to get that out) but if you want it go for it, you only live once. remember to get something original and unique and that you'll like the same when you are 60. also any good tattoo srtist will understand your low pain tolerance and will accomadate it, and remember there is always someone who has a lower pain tolerance than you.

everyone is different, but i know that a good and legal tattooist will not tattoo someone who is drunk, because its illegal, so don't drink beforehand. no pain, no gain, right? it probably will hurt, because you have a low tolerance. mine hurt like a B****, and was on my ankle. the pain didn't die down at all, but afterward felt like a bad sunburn. if you don't have a lot of fat on your lower back, it will hurt more, especially when they do your spine part. make your decision carefully, and maybe come up with a more original spot for it, depending on the tattoo. don't get one unless you are positive you'll still love it YEARS from now, and that it means something to you.

I also have a very low pain tolerance. I thought it would be a lot more painful than it really was. Don't get me wrong, it still hurt, just not as bad as I imagined it would. If the tattoo guy will let you, bring some of your favorite music... that helped distract me from the pain.

I have a low pain tolerance too and it hurt like an S.O.B. I just did
my best to relax and remind myself of all the reasons I wanted the tats in the first place. It helped that I forewarned the artistes about my low threshold so when I couldn't grit my teeth any longer, we would take a break for a few minutes until I was ready to bear it again--they have been very understanding.

I have one on my ankle. It was very painful at first. The body will kick in and you will get accustomed to the feeling. IF you truly want the tat, then you can handle the pain. Most artists will help you out if you are willing to pay. You can ask him/her to touch you with the empty needle....no ink. If you can't handle it, then back out. If you can handle it, he/she can load up with ink and then go for it. You do NOT need to be drunk, though. BAD IDEA....you don't want the thin blood and any decent artist won't touch you unless you are completely sober. I love my tattoo, but I wouldn't want to do it again.

I have NO pain tolerance and got a lower back tatoo this summer. Suprisingly I made it through it and can say that it wasn't that bad.

It is more irritating than actually painful, unless they hit a bone. During and until it heals it won't be any worse than your average sunburn. Like a bit raw.

it feels like they are scraping your skin off. everyone has a different perception of pain so i guess you'll find out when you do it.
