Do you have insurance? Is the car insured? You need to have car insurance and your friend has to have a policy on her car. Technically, an insurance policy is supposed to cover the CAR, regardless of who is driving it, but I would make sure you had insurance, too, just in case. If she does not have any coverage on the car, then don't chance it. It is illegal to drive an uninsured car in most states, and that is going to get you in a lot more trouble than just having to pay if you wreck.

A permissive driver is anyone whom the owner says can drive the car. So, if you steal it, you are not covered, otherwise you are fine.

Every policy is slightly different. Most say they will cover the car for liability (meaning the damages to the other person and/or car) only when anyone other than the insured driver is driving.

Still, she must call the insurance company to confirm. No one will know except them.

some insurance company will cover any licensed driver in the car
i would call the insurance company and ask them what their policy is just to make sure you are covered
on another note , you can buy insurance on your self to cover you in any car you drive without owning a car of your own

she cant allow you to drive it as a permissive driver until she has a drivers license and is legal,,this is one of the stipulations of the policy,,once she has a license she can give you permission to drive it,and you will be covered by her policy,,some company's do allow this before hand,,but you would have to read over her policy real care full to know for sure,,it usually don't cover anyone but her until she becomes a legal driver,,good luck hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

If her car is insured, you are covered when operating it with her consent or if you reasonably believe that you have her consent.

If you live in the same household you need to be listed on the policy as an authorized operator. If you do NOT live in the same household you do NOT need to be listed on the policy.
