My boyfriend and i have been going out for 8 months. I have known him for two years now. Anyway, he has not kissed me yet. He dosen't hug or cuddle me very much. But he will hug me. He kisses me on the cheek sometimes (I can't remember the last time he did) I kiss him on the cheek just about everyday. I really want to kiss him, I have never had a first kiss. But I don't know if he is ready or not. Is it normal in a relationship to go 8 months without kissing? Oh, and he is 17 in 11th grade and I am 18 in 12th grade. I hope someone can give me some good advice.

OMG! that is a long time! i would grow bored and think we weren't anything other than friends! a kiss means a lot, it really does, it shows and reassures that you are together and love each other, a kiss is wonderfull, it really is, but if he hasn't kissed you kiss him. i asked my girlfriend if i could kiss her after we both drank a little, we had only known each other for a few weeks. but don't let that discourage you, be more ambitious, kiss him, ask if you have too, it is actually really funny and romantic.

I hate to break this to you, but this guy is NOT your boyfriend. He is either your gay friend who hasn't come out yet, or your straight friend who doesn't have sexual feelings for you and doesn't know how to break it to you because you've known each other so long. I'm sorry, but a 17 year old boy is usually nothing but a bundle of hormones. To go 8 months without ever KISSING you means that you two are not in a romantic relationship. You're young and probably lovely. Stop wasting your time and accept your friendship for what it is and move on. I'm sure there are lots of boys who would love to kiss you and really get to know you. Give them - and yourself - a chance. Good luck.

I have heard of couples doing this to keep from being tempted to have sex Some people might find that to be strange now a days with people sleeping together on the first date but you have a very repectable guy dont rush anything.

Since he is younger, i guess he is shy about messing up with an older chick. Its normal. But a year is definitely pushin it. I suggest actually TALKING to him to find out the root of the problem. Make him feel comfortable about kissing you. :)
