I beleive in being honest and real when I post questions here when I answer these questions on this site. Reading some of these questions has really humbled me and made me realize I need to be on my knees more thanking God for ALL he has done and delivered me from. I see things on this site that people lost thier parents, child and have no one to spend the holidays with and I feel very badly about this and if I could I would have everyone over so no one would be lonely or sad.

I have everything I need I have a family a husband and great friends and I have beleived the lie and deceit of the enemy that I dont "have enough" or that I have "nothing to show for my life"
And I realize that is total bull. what are ways that I can be greatful and never take my blessings for granted. How can I help others who dont have enough or have a lot? . I just want to grow in God and realize is not about all I have "been through" How can I make a difference in this life to others?

Do lots of small things, hold doors, smile at a child, talk to a old person just to talk, help someone pick up something they've dropped, leave anonymous notes of encouragement for people who need it, tie a balloon to a lonely person's mailbox, or door handle. Drop a five or ten (or whatever you feel like) dollar bill into someones coat pocket or purse, look at people in the eye and smile when you pass them, say a silent blessing (or aloud) for someone crying. If someone wants to talk, just listen, let them talk, don't offer advice, don't judge (yeah, that's a hard one). Do these things and every time you look at that other person try and see God in their face, in their tears, in their smiles, in their cries. You don't have to do big things, a person can be in pain from a thousand "paper cuts", and a person can be lifted up and healed by one smile. You are a joy, spread it around!!

I too have come to the realization years ago that my life is NOT about me! I try to share whatever I have (experience, a smile, a hug, finances, a favor, a sandwich) with another person who is in need. It seems as though the Lord brings these people to me and is telling me to share my blessings with them. Just a smile has a domino effect on people and a little kindness goes a long way in making someones life better. God bless you and may the Lord use you to make a difference in another life!

Start by getting involved in charity....go to a local orphanage and there is PLENTY around, and take a child under your wing for holidays and weekends. You have to qualify pass all the background checks and stuff, but these kids really appreciate that! My good friends husband grew up in one and remembers the sponsers....said what a difference they made in happiness! Happy Holidays!

Tell others what God has done for you. Affect the world around you. A kind word here. Helping a neighbor here. Visit retirement homes, hospital, or prisons. Encourage others. Just let God lead you and he'll direct your path.

Be a light to those around you. Let your friends know what you believe and where you stand, and witness to them. If you can tell that they're hungry for what you're telling them about Christ, then don't hesitate to give the gospel message. If they aren't interested, then don't preach at them, but let your life be an example to them. If they see a change in you, then maybe they'll want it for themselves. And pray, of course, that God guides you and makes His will for your life known.

A bunch of us will be dropping over to your place during the holiday and stay for several months if you don't mind.

Volunteer. Doesn't matter for what... it can be church, a soup kitchen, your favorite charity. And don't just do it this time of year, but all year 'round.

I feel EXACTLY as you, except without all the "god" stuff - ironic, isn't it?
