My church usually recommends that a person attend for six months before taking the membership class. Gives them a chance to get to know the church and make sure that it is a good "fit". for them before they make a commitment to it. But also because one of the membership requirements is that you work at least one service a month somewhere in the church. It gives the church a chance to know the new people a bit before putting them into positions as workers.

I would have to agree with David B. on this one. I'm really not against Church membership, but that isn't what it is about. The Church is not, and has never been something you join.
My children never had a chance to decide wether or not they would "Join" our family, they were all born into it. I feel it is the same way with our Church family.
Remember filling out a membership card will not get you into Heaven. Only entering in to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ can do that. If you find a church that teaches the Word of God, and feel that is where God wants you, go there. If they require church membership then do it.
Blessings

Once you've talked with the Pastor or Priest and discovered what they teach. Do you see God moving in the church? Are the people in the church spiritually dead? Do you know for certain that that's where God wants you to be? these are all questions you have to ask yourself.

My guess is that many Christians are stimulated by utilising their cultural understanding of "church." for many, "church" is a particular place the place believers collect to worship, and that worship is presided over by utilising an ordained clergy. regrettably, that doesn't somewhat gel with the recent testomony writings. as long as you frequently collect with different believers and are intentional approximately offering comprehend and reverence to God in that amassing, then you definately will church! i could advise, even with the undeniable fact that, which you have a relationship with a longtime team just to substantiate your amassing, with the ideal of intentions, does not pass wacko! (do no longer blow this off. that's surpassed off lots situations before.)

when you find out if they teach the one and only Bible and they believe the whole thing is true and that Jesus is the Son of God and he loves everyone. usually it doesnt take more than 4-5 weeks. but if you have doubts i would wait a little longer. but dont wait too long or you might forget.

Why join??? Just attend.Joining has no spiritual benefit, and it has nothing to do with your Salvation. It is a purely man-made obligation.

You should feel comfortable. Make sure they teach from the bible and what it says, not what they think personally. Make sure
they don't scripture twist either.
