I've been with this 2+ years and taking meds ever since.
I heard rumors from my pharmacist she said it will just stay for a while. is this true? please show me proof.

Please let me know if there will be a cure within 10 years from now

Are they talking about your manic phases? These diagnosis don't have cures at this time but you will have periods of time when you will feel really good and be balanced and times when you feel off and can't function (manic). Your pharmacist needs to keep her opinions to herself, since she is not liscensed to diagnose people. As for a cure in ten years? I have seen the whole realm of diagnosis and treatment for mental disorders change so much in the last ten years I can't even imagine the next ten. If there isn't a cure there will at least be better treatment.

As someone who works in the field of employment for disabilities i kind of disagree with your counselor. wll maybe not right now but at some point you may feel in control enough to work part time. there are agencies out there that can help you with this goal if it is what you want to do. as for the round the world dream and owning a house, sadly there are many people with this dream who won't make it a reality. including me. work from where you are. do small things that make you feel like you have control over your life. l,iving with mental illness is a challenge but find something that makes it a little better. volunteer, join a clubhouse (a program for people with mental illness that is offered all over the world) just like people have to work slowly to build up their physical strength you also have to do this to build up your mental strength. not saying it will be easy but you can have some quality of life if you go after it.

i'm sorry for you - it stinks having to take meds.

i'm not sure about a cure - because your diagnosis can be treated successfully with meds - they spend more time and money on things like - AIDS, MS, etc. - you know things that can actually kill you.
good luck - as long as the meds work -keep taking them - at least there is some sort of help.
take care.
