Interesting comparison. I bet that even among the more open minded in either camp very few will cross that line. A Pepsi drinker might try seven up or root beer but will mostly avoid Coke. Likewise with Coke drinkers.

Both selling the myth that there's a relation between taste (Islam/Christianity works for me) and absolute right and wrong (coke > pepsi or vice versa). Look at your results, look at the thumbs. Clearly some people have tastes and will not brook your trivializing them by calling them (mere) tastes.

Not quite... more like a Ford verses Fiat:

Let us make a list of similarities between the two:
* both are automobiles used for transportation;
* both words begin with ‘F’ and have four letters;
* both use petroleum products;
* both might even be the same color.

If we simply employ the similarities of the objects, we could rightly say that it would appear the Ford and Fiat are the same. Perhaps we would focus on the one underlying characteristic of both: they are automobiles whose purpose is transportation. Surely, these similarities are overriding in our understanding of the Ford and Fiat? Not only are they similar in important ways, they are categorically the same! They are automobiles. Granted, a Ford salesman might tell you a Fiat is not an automobile, but who can trust a car salesman?!

But the question remains: Is a Ford the same as or similar to a Fiat? Are there differences?

* one is American made, the other Italian;
* one is automatic, the other has a stick shift;
* one is new, the other is old;
* one has four doors, the other two.

The above is quoted from the URL below.

Coke is better from the fountain. Pepsi is better cold from a bottle. Pepsi is better in a can, and pepsi tastes better flat.

The secret ingredient is just cinnamon and ginger!!!! you can taste it in flat sodas.

So islam is better when they dont blow people up. Christianity is better when they dont antagonise.

I think that sums it up.
