My favorite snack is something my mom calls crustini. She makes it different than I, so I'll tell you both. To start you need bread. We always use italian bread, either plain or another flavor like garlic parmesan (my preference). You'll also need cheese and tomatoes. I use CoJack. My mom has used cheddar and other flavors. Preparation and cooking: My mom slices the bread to the desired size. Then she slices the cheese to an amount suitable to melt on the bread. Then she slices the tomatoes. Stack them like a half sandwich. Bread, cheese, tomatoes. She then puts them in the oven to toast the bread and melt the cheese. I don't know the temp or time, but maybe you could guess. My method utilizes the toaster and microwave instead of the oven. I toast the bread in the toaster. When toasted, I put the cheese on the bread and stick in the microwave for 22 seconds (our microwave isn't very powerful so it may be shorter for you - I just melt the cheese). You can put the tomato on before or after the microwave.
I don't know if these keep for long as I've always devoured them quickly, but they're inexpensive so maybe you could take them for a test drive?
Good luck and happy holidays.

It's wonderful that you celebrate with those festive treats! Good for you all, but since the food part is taken care of, the salty snack appears to be taken care of, try a vegetable platter or a fruit platter. You can purchase this at your local Costco/Sam's Club and it includes: pineapples, strawberries, variety of melons, and grapes. Maybe add some cool whip and if you want to make it look like you made it, you can just buy a large tray from maybe your local Dollar Tree/99 Cent Store, or if you happen to have one, just break that dish out, place the fruit in a lively way were you just obtain a clear bowl if you have one and place the cool whip in it, put it in the middle of the serving dish and decorate around that dish...and there you have it...a creation of your own...or a mixture of vegetables that you know your family likes...maybe two types of dressings...decorate to your liking and there you have it...totally affordable...or just buy a 7 layer Bean Dip, with the Chips and it's all Good! Just some thoughts...Happy Safe Holidays to You and Your Family! (smiles)

Here's a really, really simple recipe that everyone will love, and it's so simple to make!
1.) You get a regular bite-sized pretzel, and put a Hershey's kiss on top. (You make a bunch at a time, and put them on a cookie sheet.)
2.) Put them in the oven for about 5 minutes on 350.
3.) You don't want the kiss completely melted, just a little, so it will be easy to put the M&Ms on top.
4.) Now, put an M&M on top of each of the kisses and pretzels.
To make it a little more festive, use red and green M&Ms. :)
