I had this same problem the other day. I solved it by running the glass under hot water. This slightly warms the wax. Then take a butter knife and slide it between the glass and the wax, running it around the entire candle. The candle will then pop right out. If it doesn't do so the first time around, just leave it under the hot water a moment or two longer.

I put them in the freezer. Then I scratch out the big chunks of wax and wash them in hot soapy water. If there are no metal parts, you can nuke them and pour out a lot of the wax and wipe them with a paper towel.

Put them in the freezer for awhile. The wax contracts and also crumbles easily. I usually take steak knife at this point and break it up.

Just chip it with a knife or a sharp instrument. Mine usually just slide right out.
