Well as far as the brand of shampoo, a good cheap one is Suave. However I suggest you use conditionor afterwards because shampoo opens the hair molecules and conditioner closes them back up. If you are only shampooing it might explain the hard feeling in your hair. DONT use two in ones they are HORRIBLE for your hair.

If you only use a shampoo and no seperate conditioner then go for a two in one product. To make your hair easier to comb a conditioner is what you need.
Lots of companies make combination shampoo and conditioner now so you can use it like a shampoo but you still get the benefits of using conditioner.
Karma.

Get a "wet hair comb" I think it's called that- just a wide-tooth comb, and brush your hair in the shower when it's sopping wet.("full" with water) Don't brush it while standing under the water though, water is actually very damaging to your hair, stripping it of its' protective oils. Use cool water at least to rinse(heat is also damaging), and only shampoo your roots, and use it sparingly! Squeaky clean is bad!

Okay, no mayonnaise. Yes, its amazing for your hair, if you really want to, do it only once a year. Too often can make your hair way too oily.
As for shampoo? Depends on what type of hair you have. I have pretty straight hair, so i use Garnier Fructis:Long and Strong, and its corresponding conditioner. Its wonderful, and my hair is so manageable. But if you have wavier hair, that might not work for you. Try Garnier Fructis, but for curls. Its inexpesive, and definitely gets the job done!

pert shampoo is good but the best thing is to deep condition yur hair at least once a week and change shampoos often because some shampoos can build up on your hair but if you change once a month you'll be fine

It sounds like you don't use a conditioner. Use the conditioner that goes with the brand of shampoo you use and see if it makes a difference.

You can use a shampoo-conditioner combination. You should try different ones and see which one works best for you.
And you should try to find a product that doesn't test on animals. That way they can continue to enjoy their hair (fur), too.

I really like Garneir fructise, but i find that Pantene pro-V works best in softening my hair. Also try the conditioner. It definitely makes a big difference! sounds like your hair's a lot like mine, so... I hope you enjoy the results as much as I do.
