Yes but my mother was a selfish witch. She had nice clothes but we didnt have hot water or heat.
So yeah when I had kiddos of my own I decided one generation of that was enough!
I dont spoil my kids but they have things they need and somethings they want!

Yes my children and grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren had much more then I did as a baby and child. They may live in a nicer and bigger house but I sure got love from my family and relatives. As far as toys we did alot of ice skating, bicycling, played tag and alot of outdoor sports, church activities and alot of inside games like puzzles and card games. We only had radio until I was about 12 then we got tv just before Elvis came on live tv. The children do have advantage of computers which I highly recommend.

Yes. Both of my boys have a ton of clothes. Many were given as gifts or hand me downs. We are pregnant with my third and I've learned my lesson. My first two had so many clothes there were many outfits they never even wore. We're keeping it to a minimum with the third.
And yes, they also have way more toys and live in a much bigger house. In fact, I think back to when my parents were my age and the furniture we had and such and we are way better off than my parents were.

Not really. I grew up on a family farm and although my parents have more money now(all 4 kids have moved out) my daughter is spoiled by them I think cause they couldn't do the same for us kids. I do not spoil my child mostly cause I live paycheck to paycheck and cause I grew up just fine without fancy things. We have a 2 bedroom apartment now, I grew up in a big farm house with a nice yard. My daughter has no yard but we make due. She will have no TV in her room, no cell phone till she drives a car and will never have me get her a pair of $80 jeans unless she affords them herself.

My nieces and nephews live much better than my own siblings and I lived, but, unfortunatley, they went through a lot of hard hard hard times of having single parents and abandonment before this point. This is the first year in their 11 years of life that they have had stability. Fortunately, I am a very generous aunt who buys them the best, and my parents are very generous as well, knowing that they have the financial means to provide better for them than they could for us. I think that is the goal of all parents, to give their children what they couldn't have.

More toys, more clothes and nicer home. After all, we always want more for our kids than what we had...right?

As a child I didn't have much so as a parent, I try to give my kids what I couldn't when I was a kid. So yes my children have more of everything than I did.

Great question!
Yes, my son and has more than I ever did, but you know what? He also seems more appreciative than I was. We didn't have a lot of money growing up, and now that am an adult and spent years saving, and my husband makes good money, we are able to get our son things he wants as well as needs. He's not spoilt- just lucky. :)

I see to it that my child has everything I didn't have as a child.
Plus toys are way cooler than when we were kids.
