Yes, definetly, because a 15 year old boy who is mentally challenged has a brain equivelant to a normal boy or girl who is 10 years old. So if he had a babysitter that is least 12 years old then yeah no problem. responsibility starts to kick in at age 11 1/2 so thats why I say 12.

You r 15 year old is retarded boy sometimes having a babysitter watch him. I don"t like the word retarded, I think special needs is better. YOU CAN HAVE AN UNCLE SIT WITH HIM TO KEEP HIM COMPANY.

No, it is not okay to have a babysitter under 18 years old.
Never, for the safety of the 15 years old retarded boy.

a 15 year old mentally challenged child needs an older person to supervise him/her for several reasons. first of all safety is an issue. does the 15 year old know his own strength or could the young sitter get hurt if the 15 year old became angry? the 15 year old may also look at the young sitter as "you're a kid and you're not my boss". if the 15 years old became angry and stormed out of the house would the young sitter be able to get him home safely? i think this may be too much responsibility for a younger sitter.

A 15-year-old mentally challenged boy may feel as if his parents are saying he can't take care of himself, yet a 13 or 14-year-old can. They CAN think, you know, just slower than others.
I truly don't believe a 12, 13, or 14-year-old would be able to take care of a mentally challenged child of any age. I HIGHLY suggest you hire someone RESPONSIBLE of at least 16.

It depends on how much younger the sitter is and how mentally challenged the sittee is.
Also, you have to consider how big and strong both parties are. You'd not want something to happen that the sitter can't handle because he/she isn't physically strong enough to take care of.

I don't see why not, depending on the level of mental problems he has...I certainly wouldn't want to make him feel like he needs a sitter, so maybe you wouldn't want to find a sitter too much younger.

i say yes as long as it doesn't bother you, the babysiter, or him. i would also consider the capability and responsibility of the babysitter you choose. however he might enjoy having someone more his age to interact with.
