I hate it when he does that. It is an invasion of my privacy. I have good grades and I didn't do anything wrong. My backpack is clean. He assume that I did something bad so he checks it everyday. Why can't I have a brother who careless? He always over protected. Please I want my independence back.

He is older than me. I made the honor roll since the second grade now I'm in the eighth grade. My brother is in high school.

He's just being a good brother, looking out for you. Maybe you need to be responsible and he will see that you are okay on your own.

He has probably made some mistakes in the past and doesn't want to see you do the same. He must really care about you.
Explain to him that it's great that he is looking out for you and cares but how long is it going to go on for? is he going to check your school bag when your in college? He should respond to this as being mature, if not, prove to him that you can be mature and manage situations on you own.

Be glad your brother loves you enough to check your progress, and you can't have a brother who is careless because then you would wish that he wanted to hang out with you and help persuade you to keep your grades up. The mind just works that way.

If he's younger the he could just be trying to get you in trouble.If he's older then that means he really care's about you love it.So people don't ever have a brother or sister.And there all by there lonely little self's.Embrace the love!

He might have heard rumors or he might know one of your friends who is into something you dont know about. Maybe hes worried because he was into something at you age he shouldnt have been. Tell him you are not his kid and you arent gonna keep letting him go through your stuff. Stand up to him and walk off. If he doesnt back off play the rents

if you have nothing to hide then why make a big deal out of it? sounds like he just cares about you and is looking out for you. if it bothers you that much try telling him you feel like its an invasion of your privacy and ask him to stop. or start snooping in his stuff.

If you want to stop your brother from going through your backpack then put it in an high area where he can never reach it. =)

he's looking for maybe one of the following things:
1. food (in the form of loose crumbs on the bottom)
2. drugs
3. loose change
4. something good to read
put a mousetrap in there, that should teach him a lesson.

well now since kids are doing things like have sex and doing drugs a lot earlier...he might suspect that you doing something or he might just wanna make sure your not getting involved with the wrong people. did you try asking him why he does this?? Let him know how you feel

Is he your guardian or something?
If he is, at least he is looking out for you.
These days its hard to blame him.
If not, then tell him to mind his business,
that is what you have parents for.
Nice that he cares, but pushy, tell him that so you don't wind up hating each other in the end.
