She's afraid of illegal aliens, huh? Poor little sweetie. You might get her a night light to calm her fear of being alone in the dark, and a CD of soft, repetitive mechanical sounds to lull her to sleep and reassure her if she wakes during the night. Oh, and you could rent a movie that shows aliens in a child-friendly light, like "ET," and watch it with her before bedtime.
Merry Christmas!

On the way to bed ANNOUNCE very loudly that any monsters, aliens, and other "bad" creatures had better go into hiding because the worst most possible beast on the face of this planet is coming down the hall getting ready to go to bed...a 4 year old kid! Monsters, aliens and other "bad" creatures of the night fear the 4 year old human child the most and will CRINGE in horror if caught by one of them. So beware...a 4 year old cometh...That's how we did it when my daughter had "mosters" living in her closet and under her bed...Funny thing, they didn't come out of the closet or out from under the bed at night any more.

I would pay serious attention to her and also I would, I am NOT joking, put a camcorder in her bedroom pointed at the bed and let it run all night. Take her seriously.

I have no idea, when ever I was scared like that, I ran to my parents room and told them that I was scared somebody was hiding under my bed or in my closet, just natural fears. My mom always told me to pray to God. Anyway, I'm not very religious anymore, and when she told me to pray, I did once or twice. Usually I would imagine something I want to happen or a world I would like to create, eventually I usually fell asleep because I would make myself so tired. I really have no idea. You could always tell her, aliens wouldn't abduct her because they want to get someone in higher power like the president. And, the next day show her the president is still here, no worries.

Put aluminum foil over her window and tell her that aliens can't come through it. Hang some other things around the room to chase the aliens away. It works.

Tell her that aliens don't take screaming, little girls from their bedrooms, that they like instead the ones who are willing to get up go along peacefully. Worked with my niece until the little smart alec realized that if she shut up she'd then be one of the peaceful ones.

i'd take her seriously, its a serious fear, weather you believe there is aliens or not she clearly does. a night light, leaving her bed room door open, or just ask her what would make her feel better about going to bed. don't ignore her fear, acknowledge it and ask her to help you resolve it so that you can both get some sleep. (I also liked the camra thing, it might make her feel better)

My duaghter was scared of monsters in her room so I used a softly scented spray (like body spray) and gave her bed a squirt every night and she "knew" that the spray would protect her cause the monsters only liked yucky smells. Sounds funny but it worked wonders!
