Yes, in Texas you can call Adult Protective Services. I don't know what state you live in but in Texas this is in the same office as Child Protective Services. You might want to check in the phone directory and see if there is an elderly abuse hot line in your area. If there is, you might want to give them a call. Where is mom and dad in all of this? Tell your mom and dad what you think is going on and let them handle this. If there is just you, then call the police department and ask where you can report your uncle because exploiting and abusing the elderly is a crime. God bless you and your grandparents!

Call the authorities and tell them all of that. That crap goes on everyday to our elderly. Its called tough love from your grandparents and it sounds like you care. They may be afraid to call anyone on him or kick him out because he may have threatened harm or anything. Be the bad guy. Let your family be mad at you for handling this problem because after time and that may be alot, they will love you for it. Please get your uncle the help. Ask him to join rehab and if that doesnt fly then say Im sorry I have to do this cuz I do love you I will be contacting the proper authorities to have you removed. Then leave and follow through. It will take effort on your part but you can do it. the resources are out there. Play the big person always, Dont lose your cool or no one will take you serious..Good Luck Pudleydog_3@yahoo.com if you need anything

If you know for a fact he is using and/or selling drugs, you can call the police and file a report. This doesn't guarentee anything though. He'll have to actually commit a crime for him to be arrested, and even then, he won't stay in jail for long. Seems like a more solid approach would be to express your concerns to your grandparents and any relatives who will listen. This guy is a loser freeloader and shouldn't be allowed to sponge off his parents. Sad what drugs do.

There are government programs that take care of senior citizens. Check with your area for a Citizen's Advocacy Office, or another social service area that deals with seniors. Call them and ask them anonymously what you can do or what they might suggest for you to protect your grandparents. This is a really brave step to take and I wish more people did this instead of pretending this type of abuse didn't exist. Good luck.

Is there not other family members that feel the same and could help in the stand you want to take with this?
The problem with old people are that they are very set in their ways and sometimes it is very hard to make them see something they do not want to see. Sorta like pre-teens and teens.
I would maybe council other family members and if enough feel the same them they need to move in with you and ask him to leave for their own good, and let them know it was done for their own good.

Yes, you can have him investigated. Call your local department of Job and Family Services. They have a department which investigates such cases such as elderly abuse. Just explain to them the situation and they will tell you what to do. Elderly abuse is against the law. Good luck and God bless****

Yes, you can call adult protective services and report him. I don't know where you live or I would give you their number directly but you can usually find it by calling the Department of Social Services.

tell the authorities how you feel, tell your family members, if he is on drugs, you can offend him easily, so beware of what you say around him. watch your grandparents and their belongings, druggies sometimes hurt and abuse or worse to the people they love, for money. see your preacher also. he can advise you also.
