Window seat. If I'm on the aisle, I feel like I'm missing the show.

Personally I like Window to see, but you do get better legroom on the aisle and aisle is better if you're not in exit row, so in emerg., your not sitting around dieing while you wait for room. Otherwise, in exit row, I'd go with the seat closest to door, even though it can get cold there. Although if you don't meet the criteria for exit row seating, ask to be moved, but stay close. For more info I'd try the FAA's site or google/yahoo search it.

Aisle seat. There is more leg room and you can watch the action in the aisles. If you need something you can get the attendant's attention more easily and when disembarking you get away faster.
Window seats are okay for takeoffs and landings, otherwise they are dull. Good for sleeping, though.

I prefer the aisle seat because it allows more room for my knees. The down side is everyone bumps into you as they trot up and down the aisle, including the cabin attendents. As for safety, I doubt if there is any difference.

aisle. in the window seat you are stuck. you have to climb over people if you have to get up to pee, or if the attendant is handing you something. the aisle is free-er.

Window if you want to look out and watch the scenery, aisle if you want to get up and move a little or stretch your legs sitting down.
