past and history is the same just that history can be a broader term for past.

i keep reminding myself the mistakes i made in the past and treat the mistakes as a history so that i can look back and say i must not make the same mistakes again or what is so special about the mistakes i made that can change my future life and what i can do to rectify the mistakes or make changes to my future life.

the thing is the positive and negative is sometimes on a very very thin line and sometimes i make the same "mistakes" again but in a less broader term but focused on the positive aspects.

the same "mistakes" can be re-applying for a service which though i know i don't have a job and no savings, but i know the importance of the service example internet surfing and checking emails and news etc.

maybe some "mistakes" can be categorised into a credit term such as using a credit card but the "mistakes" for poor and needy people are when they really need badly in their life example reading the news on the web when the news are more comprehensive but may need careful reading on the part of reliability of news.

ps: don't treat the bad past and bad history as a a totally negative thing but treat it as a lesson learnt so that the mistakes can be fully or partially rectified for the future in a broader or lesser term.

The past is an aspect of time. Every moment in time that has occurred before now is the past. History is the study of the past.

History is written by the victor. For instance: if the Third Reich prevailed, the historical account of their concentration camps would be quite different.

The past is an anecdotal account.

Neither the past nor history provide the complete picture, but a clearer picture is attained with both.

Past is a time period. History is what happened in that time period. In other words, history is contained within the past. History is water. Past is the bottle.

Past and History are the samething to most people but...it seems like when we talk about 'the past' we talk about something that we personally have been through or relates directly to us...history...is more something that everyone would remember.

Past is something that really happened and history is something that is one sided. It is still true but only one side of the story is told. Take WWII unless you are a history buff you really don't know what the German side of the story is. But the Fact remains that it happened and that is the Past part of it.
