She's still got what most of us are really cursed w/ to a degree : a tendency ti INDULGE in particular emotions we entertain and distract ourselves, sometimes to apparent "oblivion" like THAT. ALSO we are too damb LAZY to make hardly a noted effort to CHANGE, even when we are well aware that we are making perfect "asses" of ourselves. There is help, and I gaurantee this is emotionally stimulating even for a completely indulgent "hillbilly".....idiot.Whether she, or any persos takes to this particular 'medicine' or not is up to them. It is an old Native American Cognitive approach, and cognitive approaches have been met with good results by the more modern American Psychology Association, so why not try one ?It is not 'exclusive' , and many white, hilbilly types have come to SWEAR BY it.
Access is granted thru the Carlos Casteneda Series of books about his encounter with an old, hysterically funny, and unexpectedly stong old man of Yaqui Indian heritage, while Carlos was an anthropology student seeking research info on haluceogenic plants used by continental natives...... well, he found that, and was also required to get over it. Hold on to your pants!!!!!

Now thats a good question for Jeff Foxworthy or Larry the cable guy! However, since she is your daughter in law maybe you should find the good in her and focus on that. There must be something, after all your son married her. Keeping peace in the family is important. So try to look for the good stuff and let the other stuff go.

Richard you should be ashamed of yourself for raising a son that would marry a hillbilly.

I imagine your son thinks Iraq had nuclear weapons and had something to do with 9-11 too.

This is all your fault.

Now as to climbing out of the hole, all you can do is hope he doesn't go so far as to begin watching NASCAR and "rasslin'" on the teevee.

The best way it to move to a place that has no other hillbillies. The human mind naturally tries to socially adapt to the other people in an area.

Being a hillbilly is not a disease, rather a condition.
Some folks would consider it a blessing, not a curse.

Only the person who acts in that manner can come to terms with it and make the change. Good Luck.
