Philosophy has continually taught about the immortal soul and maximum of christianity has followed this training declaring that when one dies a wakeful element of him is going out and exists in yet another realm. this isn't biblical. in case you study Gen. 2:7 you'll see that guy grew to change right into a residing soul after God gave him the breath of existence. Any soul like guy or an animal can die as is shown with the help of Ezekiel 18:4 which says "The soul that's sinning—it itself will die." From a biblical attitude i wager that's truly sparkling. @basically trusting regular: What about the different scriptures that coach obviously that Plato replaced into incorrect about the soul being tripartite? that's his philosophy you try to mingle with the bible even although you received't realize it.

Clearly, religions around the world have developed a bewildering array of beliefs in the Hereafter, based on the teaching that the soul is immortal. And such beliefs have affected, yes, even dominated and enslaved billions of people.
What does the Bible have to say about it?
Not a Bible Teaching
How, then, did this pagan belief in the immortality of the soul come to be taught in Christendom and Judaism?
The New Catholic Encyclopedia understates matters when it says: “The notion of the soul surviving after death is not readily discernible in the Bible.”
At Genesis 2:7 we read that God breathed into Adam’s nostrils the breath of life, and Adam “came to be a living soul [Hebrew, ne′phesh].” Notice: Adam was not given a living soul; he became one. In other words, the newly created Adam was a soul! Little wonder that the New Catholic Encyclopedia concludes: “The soul in the O[ld] T[estament] means not a part of man, but the whole man—man as a living being.”
Other scriptures confirm this. Leviticus 7:20, for example, refers to “the soul who eats the flesh of the communion sacrifice.” Leviticus 23:30 says: “As for any soul that will do any sort of work.” Proverbs 25:25 says: “As cold water upon a tired soul, so is a good report from a distant land.”
“Soul” in the Bible, therefore, does not refer to some shadowy spirit entity that leaves the body after death. It means a person or an animal, or the life that a person or an animal enjoys.
What does happen to the soul after death?
Since the soul is the person, clearly, the soul dies when the person dies. In other words, a dead person is a dead soul. Scores of scriptures confirm this. “The soul that is sinning—it itself will die,” says Ezekiel 18:4.
What, then, is the condition of dead souls?
Simply stated, death is the opposite of life. All our senses are linked to our physical bodies. Without eyes we cannot see. Without ears we cannot hear. Without a brain we cannot do anything. When a person dies, all these physical organs cease to function. We cease to exist.
That is In harmony with, Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10 says: “As for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all . . . There is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol [the grave], the place to which you are going.”
What of mankind, Do we just die and that's it? What Hope is there for the Dead?
People are free to believe what they choose. Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that the doctrine of the immortality of the soul is unscriptural. Do humans, then, have no hope of life after death?
Yes, the Bible holds out the hope of a resurrection for all those in God’s memory. He yearns to restore faithful servants of his, like Job, to life! Christ Jesus confirmed the reality of this hope, saying: “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.”—John 5:28, 29.
When the time comes for that prophecy to be fulfilled, Isaiah 25:8 promises, God “will actually swallow up death forever.” This means a world in which, as Revelation 21:4 puts it, “death will be no more.” Would you like to live in a world with no funerals or funeral parlors, no gravestones or graveyards, no more tears of grief but only tears of joy?
True, you may have been raised to believe in the doctrine of the immortal soul. But by studying the Bible, you can develop faith in the Bible’s liberating promises. You can also learn what you must do to inherit the Bible’s promise, not of surviving as an immortal soul, but of receiving “everlasting life” in Paradise on earth!—John 17:3; Luke 23:43.

Hi prty_rckylova05. When we die there is a separation of the soul from the body. For the person who has been saved, at the moment of their salvation they received a new resurrected soul. This soul (upon the death of their body) goes into Heaven to be with Jesus Christ. Then, on the last day, these souls along with Jesus will return and receive their resurrected bodies.
For those who are not saved (upon the death of their body), their soul also leaves but instead of going into Heaven it goes to a place of silence. There it remains in darkness and silence until the last day when Jesus returns and then all of the unsaved will be judged and cast into Hell.
God tells us in the Bible we all will stand for judgment. In Romans 14:9-10 we read:
"For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living. 10 But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ."

I don't believe in god, because there isn't enough scientific evidence (the only thing that humans have to base beliefs on, and them be rationalized) to support the existance of god, and faith is not logical, but rather a reaction to the suggested consequences of not believing in god by other people. I am not sure whether a soul exists, buti think it may be the sense of 'perspective', a human has due to having a brain that can recognize it's own self. Once your brain dies, it dies as well and you sieze to exist. It's not that hard to imagine, just think of what happened to you before you were born, or when you are in a deep sleep.
All that being said...I'm not saying I am convinced there isn't a soul.

Ecc 12:6 Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
Ecc 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
It returns to God who gave it.

It spends eternity in Heaven or hell.
1Co 15:51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1Co 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

Your soul goes to God who gave it to you....You will then be judged and the Book of Life will be checked to see if your name is written there...If it is, then Hooray!, you get to go to Heaven and live with the Lord forever and ever and if its not in the Book then Booo hooooo you'll get to spend eternity in Hell, with the burning, torture, wailing and gnashing of teeth over and over and over...it never stops and will surely not get any better...You will suffer forever, continuously...That would surely suck huh?
