Go to the pet store. There is a brand of toys out there that has some made for chewing. It is a natural thing for an animal and human to chew when they are teething. I don't remember the brand of the toy, but I do remember seeing them.

Also, pay attention to the kitten eating. If you notice him having problems with his food, try softening it with a little bit of water.

They do exist but are hard to find, PetSmart would be your best place to look. What I did with mine, I had 4 siblings, I got this little thing you put over your finger that has tiny bristles on it not enough to hurt them by gum scratches but the thing was originally for kittens to start brushing their teeth with. It's a soft rubber finger tip thing and it worked really good. If you can actually brush your cats teeth thats a really good thing, alot of people can't or don't want to bother plus cats don't like it. I'd go with dry food mushed up in water for a starting food when your kitten is starting to eat. You have to watch if he/she is still nursing too so they don't bite up momma cat up really bad.

If your kitten is losing his baby teeth and getting his permanent teeth, then I suggest a drinking straw made out of thicker plastic. Our vet recommended this, and our teething kitten is loving them. They also make a great noise, and if you step on them, they don't break.

Well, that's a very young kitten to be teething. I'm assuming it's with its Mother still - it should be. Make sure when it starts eating food you soften it until about 1 - 2 months. Some cats don't really even like soft food that much. But no, it's normal, just understand any weirdness and be extra nice to your kitty.

There are toys you can get at the pet store specifically for that, you put them in the freezer, sort of like teething rings without the liquid inside.

A simple and free suggetion would be to get an old rag that you dont care about and wet it and put it in the freezer for about an hour, thengive it to your kitten to chew on, this is what I done for my puppy it might work.

When we last had our kitties to the vet for check-ups, I asked about chew toys for cats because two of them were not pleased about being put on a diet. We were assured that they did exist.
