It seems you have two questions here and neither of them are clear. Non-believers probably don't even care or think about the date of the rapture. And incidentally not all Christians believe in a rapture as it is taught. On the first question are you asking why non-believers fly without knowing if the pilot is a believer or not? I as a Christian have flown many times and I never asked if the pilot was a believer or non-believer. Did I miss something here?

uhhh... well that's just the weirdest question I've ever come across in Yahoo. Beats the What Should I do Retard by a mile!
Now why should an atheist care about the religious preference of the pilot? Is one preference more likely to crash the plane than the other? Is it supposed to indicate that the pilot would deliberately crash the plane into the World trade... uhhh... okay, my next flight I'll make sure the pilot is an atheist.

God through Jesus governs the sacred and the secular as two folds of the same flock, Gentiles and believers alike. Whether or not you are a conscious believer, the same laws of nature and the divine apply to all of us as equal human beings in God's eyes. We merely suffer less and feel more at peace and in harmony the more in tune and aware we are of God's laws and purpose and how that works in our lives.
As for the rapture, this happens for each person on God's time. Whenever you realize that the spirit of Christ is in each person, and joins us all as one humanity, when you fully embrace and feel that unifying connection through Jesus as the universal Messiah or Message, you may suddenly feel swept away from your old worldly way of thinking and looking at people as divided into this group or that group. That is the old way, the old world that will exist no more when you look at the world from God's eyes. When you truly feel "all are one in Christ Jesus" where there is no more separation between you and your neighbor, between oppressor and oppressed, that is when the rapture has come for you and made you one with Christ.
Every person may experience this in a different way and time; it may be sudden or gradual. But collectively, when every soul matures to the point of becoming one with everyone else who has ever lived, that is when the rapture happens for everyone.
In God's eyes, it happens all at once in a flash. In our linear human perspective, it has taken 2000 years and still has not fully incarnated on earth. So Jesus' spirit that joins us all by conscience is working through its process of redemption and reconciliation that frees us from the past so we can embrace the future. No one knows exactly when that process will be fulfilled. But those who have experienced spiritual rapture already sense a connection across all humanity that transcends all time and space which loses meaning in comparison.

I'd say that those who don't believe in the rapture aren't too worried about it.
Or rather, they're as worried about it as Xians are of being trampled to death by the Invisible Pink Unicorn while they sleep.

Oh boy, I am really worried about that. I think the plane crashing might be a little higher on my list. That actually has a chance of happening.
