The answer is both yes and no. Theoritically, yes, John the Baptist is a follower of Christ, and in fact he was a fore-runner of Christ. He went before Christ to prepare the way for Him. But in practice, John the Baptist never become a member of the Christian Church because he died before the Church was even established. But if the question is: will John the Baptist be found in heaven with other Christians? Again the answer is , yes, he will definitely be there. In fact he will be considered as the greatest of all Christians, or believers and followers/doers of the teaching of Christ.

The Latinized Greek term Khri·sti·a·nos´, found only three times in the Christian Greek Scriptures, designates followers of Christ Jesus, the exponents of Christianity.—Ac 11:26; 26:28; 1Pe 4:16.
“It was first in Antioch [Syria] that the disciples were by divine providence called Christians.” (Ac 11:26) It is possible, then, that this name was used as early as the year 44Â C.E. when the events surrounding this text occurred, although the grammatical structure of this phrase does not necessarily make it so; some think it was a little later. At any rate, by about 58Â C.E., in the city of Caesarea, the term was well known and used even by public officials, for at that time King Herod Agrippa II said to Paul: “In a short time you would persuade me to become a Christian.”—Ac 26:28.

Yochanan bar Z'kharyah was a good Jewish lad, the son of Z'kharyah who belonged to the Aviyah division. His wife, Elisheva, was a descendant of Aharon. And Yochanan was first cousin of Yeshua bar Miryam
John son of Zechariah was a good Jewish lad, the son of Zechariah who belonged to the Abia division [of priests{. His wife Elisabeth was a descendant of Aaron. And John was first cousin of Jesus son of Mary.
No, John was NOT a Christian. He was the forerunner of Jesus, he came in the spirit of Elijah. Christianity did not begin until after the Atonement and the Resurrection. Some would say it began on the day of Pentecost. The disciples were first called "Christians" at Antioch.

No he wasn't he was filled with the spirit of God. How can he have been a Christian when there was no such name. The name Christian did not come around until the book of acts. In those days a man wasn't called a Christian they was called The Jews.

Absolutely. He knew Christ when he met Him. He even told Jesus he was not worthy to Baptize Him. He knew He was the Son of God Almighty. He was a Christian.

Although he may not have used the term "Chrisitan". He was a believer / follower of Jesus Christ. So I guess he would be by default a Christian.
