A deep question my friend. Philosophers and Theologians have been debating this since the dawn of time. We know that our bodies will die at some point. The problem is that nobody knows for sure what happens to that immaterial part that we call the Soul or Spirit. That is where faith comes in. The Atheist has Faith that his soul and spirit die. The Thiest has faith that soul and spirit live on. Now the Christian says, "I have a more certain hope than the Theist, and my faith can be stronger than the Athiest , because when Jesus rose from the dead, he showed that the soul does not die.
