I think that there are MORE demons to be cast out in this day and age, but that there are not enough who embrace those who work to cast them out. The media has made the idea of exorcism and demons so dramatized that I don't think people really take the idea of demons in one's soul seriously. In the day of old, all believed in the power of demons, and they were successful in casting them out. They had several priest and pastors who believed in the power of releasing demons through Faith in the God. Today to suggest to someone that a person is possessed by demons is a social disgrace.

If you take the time to think about it though, the world has so many more problems now then in the days of old where demons were cast out and people lived off of fear of the Lord's wrath. People can commit murder and get away with it, even after they are found guilty. They are often times repeat offenders hence serial killers. The level of rape committed is a lot higher now than it used to be. There are more thieves. More sexual promiscuity. More social injustice.. The list goes on and on.

Demons are considered to be live beings or creatures, so is not safe to think that they have realized that maybe if they do not act as they used to while possessing ones body they will be able to invade a persons soul and convince that person to commit things that he or she would normally not do? The meaning of not acting like they used to is, the noises that used to come from those possessed the looks etc. Demons may have realized that if they can control themselves, they can better control those whose being they have possessed.

The saying 'We all have our personal demons' may be truer than we all think. Our personal demon may be within us, but we are not allowed to think about it. If we are to do so, we are considered to be either crazy or just going through ‘emotional changes.’ or some other knockoff term that the medical world has provided us with. So my opinion then is that demons have become smarter, their king more intelligent, the world more disdainful and ‘worldly’ , and their hosts more ignorant. That is why fewer demons are cast out in this day and age, but a larger population dwells among us.

There is just as many as there ever was, we just don't cast them out anymore because it's discrimination against the demons. The ACLU has lobbied for a law against casting out demons and I hear that they are going to push it hard in the next election.

Well there are demons that need to be cast out, and some people do go and cast them out if the Lord leads them to them, but generally nowaday I think people who have demons are looked upon as insane, and fill up the psychiatric centers.

they are there, but i think that some of the New Age lifestyles of casting out negative energies from their homes and such has led to a decrease in demonic influence in the world.

when most Pagans move from place to place they clean it of negative energy before moving into the new place, and before leaving the old place. i believe that this helps to keep the demons from gaining a foothold in the world. (much like having priest's bless homes in the Christian tradition.)

and also there are many New Age healers and Pagan warriors that are lending their energies to the fight against negative forces.

like it or not we are doing the work that the church used to do, before all cases of demonic intervention became some medical condition. even the Vatican tries to downplay it's team of Exorcist's, i think that people just started turning to the spiritualist instead of the organized religions.

St. Luke, the physician, distinguished between demon possession and physical illnesses.

Some denominations probably ascribe all illnesses to demon possession.

Other people refuse to believe in demon possession and ascribe all illnesses to physical causes.

Don't suppose there is a demon under every rock nor behind every tree; likewise, though, be aware of the wiles of the devil.
