Really, self esteem isn`t about someone telling you how beautiful or smart you are. It`s just about being comfortable with yourself. I don`t think there`s really much you could do to help her, except be completely sincere when you compliment her. Don`t make fun of her (joking or not), and stick up for her if she`s ever being put down, no matter who`s doing it. Even if someone`s joking about it, it still may be hurting her.

Self esteem comes from within. Knowing who you are, standing up for the things you believe in and saying no to the things that are wrong for you. Achieving goals you have set , overcoming obstacles and education are some things that help you gain self confidence. The people around you can tell you that you are smart or beautiful but self esteem happens when you have learned these things for yourself. You can help by encouraging her to try new things and giving her space to learn from these experiences herself.

I am one of those girls with very low self-esteem. It never matters what anyone says, I will feel that I am less-than until I can fix the things about myself that I think are horrible and ugly.

There is plenty of things you can do. Most of the time just giving her attention works. Acknowledge her a lot. Give her compliments on a regular basis. Is she tends to worry about what other people think let her know their opinions don't matter. Make an effort to do things that she likes and help her accomplish things that may seem out of reach to her.

Verbal Reinforcement of her beauty and also taking her out on the town so that you can show her off is another. If you just tell her a lot of times they do not believe you till you show them how others react to their beauty. You may also want to get her a glam-our shot photo done those always show what others miss and enhance what is there.

Best of luck.

Just keep telling her how beautiful she is.

Being loved by an adoring man would boost any girls self esteem.

You are a sweetheart for caring so much!!

tell her how beautiful u think she is, everyday. write her a love song, (guitar is a +!!!) if she isn't confident with the way her body is, then take her on a nice walk, go rollerblading, pick-up game of football, or go out and walk the dog with her. those are ways to have fun, and get fit.

Remind her of her strong points and get her to do things with you to show her that she is smart and talented. Beauty is not the most fullfilling attribute. Show her some of her other attributes like that she is loving and kind.

awww your like my boyfriend. girls love it when guys tell them they are beautiful & mean it. its so nice of you that you try & you do suceed. trust me she might not show it now, but soon she will realize how amazing her boyfriend is & how lucky she is to have him. i have bad days sometimes too, everyone does, sometimes for no apparent reason, other then just simply not being in a good mood. girls are really emotional sometimes, i know, but we cant really help it. you just kinda have to deal with it & comfort her... she will thank you later.
