I recently had a cystic hygroma removed from my neck and was left with numbness under my chin area. my Dr said it will take time for the feeling to come back. I am starting to get itchy in that area now but funny enough i can't feel the area when I touch it.

Anyone know what this could be?

the nerves are regenerating and you will have the feeling come back slowly so it is a good sign.

If it is itching it is healing, but as far as getting feelings back from nerves that have been cut, you may get most of it back, but not necessarily all of it. After having stomach surgery, I have numbness around the 12 inch scar still, after 25 years. My son had surgery too, and his is still numb after 7 years. It was a small incision such as yours.

Usually itching means healing and though you can't feel it the itching may be the first sign that feeling is coming back. That is a good sign. Good luck.

Your nerves are coming back like the doctor said. It will itch like when you are cold and start warming up again.
