NO!!!! Leave her alone. Don't you realize how much trauma you'll cause trying to keep her away from new-borns for the length of time necessary to bath and get her 100% dry!! You also couldn't use shampoo on her anyway - she's nursing puppies.

Give her a few days, then (leaving her in the whelping box) you can brush a little dry shampoo through her if you must. Otherwise, leave her alone until she's ready to wean the pups.

if your dog has given birth she can be bathed right after delivery but i would recommend waiting for at least a day or so that she can be with her pups for the first 24hrs.
our dog Cloe gave birth in Nov. and we waited till the next day to bathe her and we only gave her a quick bath as we did not want to keep her away from her babies too long.

also when you bath your female do not use soap, shampoo,or conditioner on or near her nipples as the pups will get the residue left on them in their mouths and that can turn them off from drinking.

Good Luck

I would give about a week before bathing her and make sure she is fully dry before she go's back to the puppies and use a natural shampoo so the pups don't ingest the chemicals

Well no because the puppies have to smell their mom. if you give the mother a bath there is a chance that the puppies wont recognize their mother. then they might need to be bottle fed. Mine did the same thing and they were dehidrated. i would not give her a bath.

Just don't throw out the baby with the bath water.

No, you need to leave her alone and let her rest. You could use a pet wipe or damp wash cloth to help clean her up a little though.

Leave her alone. She will clean herself up.
