The weather in Washington DC is terrible - it is about 90 or higher for 3 months of the year and VERY humid with no breeze - and possibly longer. The winters are cold and damp. The only good thing about DC is that things are air conditioned.

Generally, you'll find that winters in DC are colder than in London, and summers are pure torture (a bit like being inside a tumble dryer). "Steamy" is what comes to mind, most of the time.
