I personally find it funny. They really sound delusional. I get a good chuckle out of it every time.
Yes, I am sure that it is meant as an insult, but they might as well say I am purple with pink polka dots. I mean it is just so ridiculous.

I do not believe you will go to hell just because you do not believe in god or heaven or hell. I do not believe it would be that easy to get into hell. I am pretty sure you have to be a real problem to get there. Ex. child molesters. I understand you do not believe in hell. I do understand though that there was a big bang theory but what caused the big bang in the first place? How did the matter get there. As far as hell. They have been talking about hell long before they knew the center of the earth was so hot.

I agree with you Citizen LAR, I'm an atheist myself. I don't believe in any god, but i think that there might be some kind of consciousness out in the universe. Every religion tries to find a way to interpret that, but i just find it very hard to believe (I'm not saying that it couldn't possibly be true) that there is a world above the clouds, with a bearded man watching our every move. And i just picked that randomly as an example, i have nothing specific against Christianity.

Firsts things first. There is a hell.
And two Atheism is the belief that you believe in nothing. and obviously you believe there is no God. So your more on the lines of figuring out if there is a god or not. Because how can you say something is not real if you have never seen it? Thats like saying theres no aliens or evil mutant cricket spiders. Me I know he's real, because if he wasnt I wouldnt be here now. Go ahead start with the darwin stuff, but "Logically" Telling me my mamma was a fish and my daddys a monkey is a little on the odd side i might think.. I dont know what youve been told about hell but obviously youve been attacked about it. Where do we go after we die? Think about that.
Thanks

Well the funny thing is that if you read through the Bible it never mentions a place where people are burning over and over right now as we speak, what type of a God could sit in heaven and watch His lost children burn over and over? but there is a time when all the wicked will be burnt up at once along with the devil, but its more out of mercy than anger. Without the cloak of Christ and His righteousness we cant go in the presence of God without burning up, our sins our to great. Also if a sinner was to go to heaven how happy would they be? heaven is nothing like it is on Earth, you dont lie, cheat, steal, fornicate, no violence, no prophanity, I mean thats not alot to offer someone who loves and cherishes all those sins..

From what I understand, "Hell is a place of weeping." And I tend to understand (Maybe) Of a red horned, pitch forked red guy at the depths of the earth tormenting me for eternity is most commonly thought of. In my case, methinks it would be a place of nothing. Nothing but pitch black. Cold. Empty. An abyss of never ending darkness. To go nowhere. That is a hell I personally wish to never be part of. (I Understand this sounds like death, and we all...you know. But there's a purpose for our lives on this earth or else why would we be here?) There is a meaning of why we see things. Experience emotions. Go through our own tribulations of life. (And we all know there are different roads in which we travel in life...) These are a few things why I cannot deny god, bible, angels, demons, afterlife, heaven and hell...

As a Catholic I fully understand this because I have some Christian friends that think I am going to hell also. Truly, if you have Jesus in your heart, this is not what you would tell someone. The final words that Jesus spoke on the cross were VERY hard for him to get out since he was nailed to a cross and was suffocating. He said, 'Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do'.
So, for a person like you, I don't think you are going to hell. For whatever reason you just are unable to believe and I think that God understands your heart. By your tone, you are not mean and hateful to Christians, and the catholic Church does not teach that anyone is in hell, we figure some are, but we only know that Satan is there.
So, when someone tells you that, remind them that Jesus didn't call them to save everyone, that is His job, He has called Christians to service. Feed and clothe others in His name, and you are feeding and clothing Christ Himself. Ignore those who are hungry and you are ignoring Christ. Pray for people, but don't harass them.

If everyone stopped mentioned hell the world would not be a little more peaceful, unless you plan to make the world stop the war, stop hunger, house the homeless.. etc. etc. you get the point. Mentioning hell is but a little thing compared to all the above.
As for the insult to you, turn the other cheek. Its a way of life we all have to be accepting to others religions. Your is an insult to others, as others is an insult to you. Just kindly tell ppl I do not push my thoughts on you please do not push your on me and we can save each other a lot of insults.

"Christians" who spout hell and damnation go completely against Jesus' teaching. You can never make someone love you by scaring them. It doesn't make sense. Yes, the world would be a little sweeter without mentioning hell. Here's the thing, just because you don't believe in it doesn't mean it's our imagination.
Love you!

Hell is just absence of God. When you know with certainty that God exists, life without His presence is Hell.
I have no idea what happens to atheists. You dont believe in God. Maybe you are a better person than many who do. If you love your fellow man I believe that you will be judged accordingly.
Christians dont go to heaven for believing in God, they go because they loved others. (If you love me , follow my commandments; love one another)

Jesus didn't come to earth to bring peace. "Suppose that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:" - Luke 12:51
To warn of hell is fearful, but it is absoultely ligitmate, because the Bible says that it is a fearful thing for a sinner to fall into the hands of the living God.
