what do you think about preachers (like benny hinn) doing the whole "making people/crowds fall down because of the spirit thing"
obviously i know that atheists would think that it shows the absurdity of the will to believe
but i am wondering what other christians think about it.
Do you think that people are unwittingly playing along (like at hypnotist shows) or do you think the spirit is really doing that?

I think they do that to get attention for the wrong reasons. My choice of faith healing going to the Great Physician{God). At least He won't thump me and knock me down to the floor.

definitely the main denominations -- Lutheran, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, Anglican, and so forth., have all issued statements endorsing Evolution. Christians do no longer spend all their time knocking Evolution, in basic terms a handful of Creationists do. the standard public of Christians in the worldwide are not American evangelicals, which you look specializing in. And there have been Christians who've pronounced the misdeeds of different Christians. Why do no longer atheists ever say sorry for the one hundred million people who died below communism, pondering communism replaced into created, applied, and ran through atheists (and nevertheless is)? particularly, they'll say element like "nicely, the Soviets have been particularly Christians" or something the two ludicrous. that's extra beneficial than have died in the call of all religions prepare (as nicely wars are particularly approximately administration of economic materials besides). that's particularly helpful to income the prestige of your guy or woman abode.

this is a very sad thing going on. i don't know whether the preachers doing this think they are helping or whether they are pulling the wool over everybody's eyes. the people who are "healed" through this method are only that way for a short time because everyone's emotions seem to get involved. I believe the Lord Jesus Christ truly had the ability to heal people. Today there is absolutely nothing wrong with going to doctors and hospitals. that is what they are there for.

Personally, I know first hand that the spirit really moves with allot of power. Crowds at a time is not impractical for an omnipotent God, but I do think that some people play along and pretend to by filled with the spirit to seem more religious, and I do not approve at all.

before Jesus ascended into Heaven he told the disciples to go into the world and teach and do more and better works than he had done, and that included healing.....our biggest problem is back then they were able to believe without have CNN or Fox news talk it to death and make you question what you believed....yes I do think its possible but the knocking down thing,I don't get, but the healing I do feel it can be done, not necessarily by Benny Hinn

it maybe spirit but i don't think it is the holy spirit!!! i think some do put on a show like jerry springer, hypnotists, majicians etc.... on some instances i think the people are genuine but have convinced themselves in their head that this person will heal them etc..... there are some methods people can use to knock people down at these shows so i think that may play a part in it aswell. i am a catholic christian, just saying so you can see what some from different denominations may think. hope this helped.

Most aren't as bad off as the audience thinks they are. One news show ten or so years ago talked about people who walked with canes were offered wheelchairs at one of these shows. When the preacher told them to get up and walk, many didn't even think they were being "healed", they thought they were just doing what they were being told.

My dear Son is your question one of arrogance, or education then this is not the place. Can a whole church fake something together?. Is everyone in his congregation Christians?. On the other hand in order to understand spiritual thing you must be born again.

I am not too impressed and so are many other Christians. The devil and and has been prophesied to perform miracles. So it cannot be taken as a proof that he or any one else doing that is genuine.

The Bible says that miracle alone is not enough, although they do it in the name of Jesus.
Matthew 7:21-23.

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
