Homeschooling your autistic child is the same as homeschooling any other child, with the same laws and restrictions. There is no testing that is required, so you are only accountable to your child and yourself. We did send a certified letter to our school saying that we no longer wished our child to be serviced or categorized under IDEA, it helps the school because the IEP is a legal document, and it could hurt either one of you in the long run to not cancel it.
What was helpful for us when we began homeschooling our autistic children was the use the IEP that we had at school as a kick-off, and build on that. They both very rapidly outgrew those IEP's, and we moved on. Schools also have a program called homebound, where the child is learning at home, and they can send a teacher out, once a day, a few times a week, whatever. You do usually have to prove that your child cannot learn or is not safe in the school building.
It might be helpful to hire an ABA tutor or behavioralist, or use a psychologist to help set goals, both behavioral and academic. Ours we see once a month, we talk about what they've learned, what they need to learn next, and the best steps for an autistic child to learn it. There are definitely some programs that are very well designed for the types of learners that autistics tend to be.

you dont need certification or license,, i would check with your local school board, they are suppose to provide you will all the information,, some districts have forms you file out, to declare you are home schooling,,,,,, of course, in some districts they try to discourage you from doing it,,,, but just stand firm with your decision,,,,, also , a great resource , is to check and see if there are any local home schooling groups in your area,,,,, most town/cities have them,,,,, the local school board for your county would also have the information of any testing , assessments needed for your child,, to determine progress
