The aim of all religions is generally good. Different interpretations to suit personal agendas make a religion seem good or bad for those who don't understand. I personally take each and every question as it comes. because every human has a right to his/her/its own opinion, the abusers and the rabble rousers and the bible thumpers and the non-believers just don't understand that they are trampling over others feelings by airing their negative opinions about something that is very personal to each person.

Has always been that way because religion answers for that person the most important questions in life. Who they are, why they are and where are they going, and how to get there. People who are not religious have completely different answers to some of those questions. And I think for them a few of the questions do not apply. So of course it makes for clashes. What to vote for,l what is right or wrong, if there even is a right and wrong. So while it might a bit tiresome, these are weighty matters. Not lightly dismissed.

Some questions do bother me as I do not feel that the amount of my knowledge gives me the right to answer strict theological questions. If asked how and what I personally believe then I have no problems discussing religion. As to whether I try to convert people, then no. As to whether I want someone to convert me, then no also. Too many wars and deaths have been waged as it is now in the name of religion. I fully believe that there will always be someone that will believe that their belief is the only true belief and want to have their beliefs believed by everyone else and will try to force others to believe or else they will kill them. My religious beliefs are just that they are my beliefs and no one else needs to believe the same. To discuss in a round table situation I will gladly take part. I am always open to learning more about my faith but I will not try to make another believe my way.

No they don't bother me at all. I have read some good answers from Christians and also from atheists. I feel that level headed, intelligent people on both sides don't even bother to answer some of the more obvious mocking questions, but the individuals who have the hatred do. So I'm hoping there are lot of individuals reading all of this who only answer serious, honest questions. I guest what I'm trying to say is that abusive questions will bring out abusive answers and there are many good individuals who are choosing their questions and answers carefully and that what we are seeing is a lot of hatred from the malcontents on both sides.

All questions that are properly asked usually generate informative responses and I've seen many of them here before.
But lately what has become more of the norm and quite irritating --to many of us here-- are the offensive typecasting, name-calling or mudslinging, and a blatant display of obnoxious porn that get out of line here at times.
For such a serious and highly personal enough topic as Religion & Spirituality that is being discussed among strangers in any gathering, we owe ourselves some respect, decorum and civility that we each deserve from the other at the very least, don't you agree?
Peace be with you.

U R right dear friend. Even in this modern world, one cannot believe how some people can be close-minded as not to accept the choice of other people. Ok., u should invite any other person to your reliegion but the ultimate choice should be his. U shouldn't be mean about it like some people are!

Honestly, it hurts me to see all this anger between one another.
It hurts me to see how many people despise God and Jesus. It hurts to know that some people are so dead set against God that they will throw away their eternal life. It hurts to see so much murder going on in this world when all we really want is Peace on Earth. It hurts to know that Christ died for all our sins and that some people just ignore that gift. It hurts to know all the tongue wagging that goes on here between all people, it should not be like that. It hurts that people don't say Merry Christmas anymore because it is politically incorrect. It hurt just to see all the anger that some people have in their eyes. Too much hatred, not enough love.

None are better mannered then another because we're all just people.
Only suggestion is to put to use the talent of ignoring the ones you don't like.

well i'm agnostic and i try to be respectful and open minded to other people's beliefs and ideas however what annoys me is when people talk about things they don't truly understand and say disrespectful things instead of trying to stay open minded and learn from people's responses and when people just say whatever the hell comes out of their mouth without having any idea about what they're talking about
