That was a 1969 Charger R/T with a 426 hemi in close ups and they used 1968 or 1970 Chargers with 383's for stunt work.....a Charger in good condition especially the 68's and 69's with hemis are worth 30 to 50 thousand...your best bet is to find one with a 383...don't leave the 71 charger out...the body style is more elogated but it's still a looker....more of a fastback style...the 67 has a different body style..more box like and it was basically just a Coronet with hidden headlights...you might find a 68-70 Charger for 15 to 20 thousand in fair shape...pick up Autotrader or check E bay...

Old Chargers from 68-70 like the General Lee are the ones to have. The good restored ones with matching serial numbers and in perfect condition can fetch $30,000 to $60,000 and more. I found one on Cars.com for $54K in mint condition.
The more typical daily drivers with worn upholstery, dents, scratches and perhaps some rust can be had for between $7000 and $20,000 depending on condition.
eBay does have a fair number of American classics, but they usually fetch top dollar. I've found that local classifieds, even on-line classifieds from the mid-west, Recycler, or even a weekend drive through a rural area will often turn up finds which you won't catch on eBay, and at much better prices.
If you find that you can't locate exactly the one you want or in the condition you like, you can also try an auto broker/locator. They will find the classic you want for a finder's fee. They have ads published in Hemming Motor News, sold at most better bookstands or you can try these links: http://www.auto-locator.com , http://www.getauto.com , or http://www.automatchcars.com .
Good luck!

Go on down to Hazzard County and check out Cletus' impound yard. Seriously there are alot of Dukes clones out there, do you actually want the General Lee look? Waiting for someone to just put "Generally" on the roof. Um, Hemming Motor News, EBay, etc are a good start. maybe there is a website dedicated to clones and come up for sale? Also there is a place i know in IL called Volo auto museum that buys and sells movie/TV cars, they might have one actually used in the series or the movie. They are online.

All the General Lee models were 68 and 69. The one Bo and Luke drove all the time was a 69, and the 68s had 69 front clips so they would all look alike. See this article in Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Lee_(car)
As far as buying one, you will have to do an internet search to find one for sale, just as I did to find the article.

i will say Dukes of probability. i can undergo in ideas watchin that and playin that with my pal as quickly as we've been childrens. i became consistently Luke Duke and he became Bo, which became ordinary cuz I had the lighter hair and he had the darker hair. anyhow, the final Lee is 2nd to none so some distance as autos flow in my opinion. If i'd desire to have the money for it, i could have one in each of those. YEEEEEHAWWWWWWWWWWW!
