I feel that the police officers did their job of upholding the law. If the person was causing a hazard by driving a car recklessly and hitting a person then the person needs to be stopped. Shooting someone is ALWAYS a last resort only if nothing else will work.

A vehicle is considered a weapon when used wrong. I think the cops were right in this case, how did they know the guy was drunk and not just out to hurt others. Don't be so hard on cops, they have split second decisions to make and who knows how we'd react. Besides if you choose to drink and drive let this be a warning!

In cases where the drunk driver uses the car as a weapon, the police are justified in stopping him by using whatever means necessary.

There is not enough about this case released to make a determination. It's like seeing the only part of the Rodney King video they showed on TV. Just not enough information to make an informed decision.
To the person that answered above me. Shooting the tires doesn't do anything to stop a vehicle. The vehicle is still able to be used as a deadly weapon.

No heros in this story. Just brave men doing their best to go home at the end of their shift. The situation wasn't premeditated, it just happened. Very unfortunate for all, but in the end, the good guys go home.

If you are a drunk driver, your tires need to be shot, then you need to be put in prison.
If they can't hit the tires, then they can aim for you, because you are a murderer on wheels and no one forced you to drink.

Since when has the police force been declared judge and jury, which is the question I have for the populous who thinks its justifiable for a cop to kill anybody unarmed. You are next. Don't you see that it psychopathic whether a badge is worn or not.
