shorter layers on top is much more versatile and low maintenance.
perhaps if you grew out your top layers a little bit longer they wouldn't poof out as much.
mine fall about the length of my lips. it keeps my volume even all around

hair straightening would not take half an hour to do. blow drying and straightening takes about 15 minutes at the most for me.

or ask your stylist to thin out your hair.
if you talk to your hair stylist and tell her how it's too poofy she will know how to solve the problem.

Short layers ontop is more low maintence and more versatile. Because short layers inside stick out and fall out of a ponytails and updos unless you want to always gel it up. Its easier to take care of and looks really good too. Since your hair poofs out because of your layers, I think its just your hair type. Try Sunsilk's anti-poof shampoo and conditioner and the leave in. It doesnt take half an hour and you just shower regularly.

Shorter inside is what you want.It will thin your hair a little and make it easier to control so it would definetley be the low maintence cut .It would also be versatile because you can easily fix it up if you need to.Longer layers require more upkeep.

get alot of layers short to long, it works, hair poofing out is just the kind of hair you have, but alot of layers helps get rid of it
