Look around online for a parrafin waxer. It feels great, and the results are remarkable. If your hands are extremely dry, I also recommend the Eucerin, but you could apply some Cortaid before the lotion on the rough spots. Seriously, though. Try a paraffin waxer! I'll list some sights with some less expensive ones. You don't need a lot of bells and whistles, as long as it heats the wax, it will do the trick.

I recommend Neutrogena's Norwegian Formula Hand Cream. It relieves chapped hands, and make dry skin feel baby soft. I've used it for a while, and it works very well. It has also been voted as Allure's Best of Beauty Hand Cream

Get mittens, and tear two plastic wraps (enough to cover each hand). Get some exfoiliating cream and wash and exfoilate. Then put some vaseline all over your hand, generously! And then wrap your hands or have someone help you. Then put them in mittens and go to sleep. The next day you will have very soft hands and most of the vaseline will be absorbed.

Aquaphor by Eucerin. It's a little greasy, but not as greasy as Vaseline. My son's pediatrician recommended it over Vaseline for all of my son's dry skin and diaper rash, and my mother in law and I both have severe dry, cracked, bleeding skin, and we both swear by it.
Next to that: Lansinoh nipple cream. It's for breastfeeding mothers, but it's an ultrapure, medical-grade modified lanolin.
I'm sure somebody will recommend Corn Huskers. Don't listen to them. Everything has alcohol, but CH has alcohol as the #2 ingredient, and it will burn any cracked/chapped skin and make it more dry.
Hot water causes dry skin too.

human udder balm is found at larger drug stores, it originally was used to soften the udders of cows so they were supple enough to milk, but it was greasy and smelled like medicine, the human formula isn't greasy and smells better, many nurses have known about it for years and some have used it for the very dry skin from was constant hand washing

Living in Florida my hands tend to stay dry, so what I use is a lotion with Shea Butter. I love shea butter. It really helps.

Not Vaseline...it is petroleum based and cancerous over the long haul.
KERI Lotion is a good one and recommended by doctors...I am told...it works for me.any drug store has it.
HEMP Moisturizer from Walmart is good.
NIVEA is another good one from Walmart of any drug store.
These are all higher price than many others but worth it.
