yes, i have a Jack Russell that does that because he has parasites as do you, I, and any dog owner! It is a fact. Be care full
he doesn't lick too much as mine did, as they went raw and took him 2 the Vet that OD'd him with steroids. I than went to a Holistic Women that gave him meds 6 mths, he's not done but if u give him generic Benedryl 25mg. it will stop the itch, he/she maybe a bit drowsie but that's better than irrating his paws raw.
It will also make him/her less irrated as they're not just itchy.
Please feel free to contact me for further info.

Some dogs lick their paws just like people get into the habit of biting their nails. It might be due to anxiety. Do you walk your dog regularly? Usually large dog get a cooped up feeling if you don't walk them every day.

I came down with the flu one time and couldn't go anywhere for a week and a half. One of my shepherds literally tried climbing the walls. Sick as I was, I had to take her out.

On average, me and my dogs would walk 22-60 blocks a day. And then they got too old and their walks got shorter and shorter.

There could be a lot of reasons: allergies, yeast or boredom. I would take her to the vet if she continues or if you notice an odor coming from her feet (it is a sickly sweet smell) - she can also get a terrible infection is she licks them so much she gets a lick sore.

Food allergies often make them bite their paws. Consult your vet and maybe try switching to a different dog food.

it's usually either allergies or anxiety. Is she getting enough exercise? She may be trying to alleviate her nervousness/energy. If it's allergies there are supplements you can give her to help. I order stuff from www.doctorsfostersmith.com They have a whole allergy section.

it could very well be allergies. my dog does the same thing and it was aleergies. She is itchy. take her to the vet to check to see what she is allergic to so they can make her feel better.

i had a dog who did the same i took her to the vet and he said she had allergies. So if you are feeding it table food think about taking it to the vet.

have your dog checked for mange. it can cause intense itching and some dogs lick and others chew. it will involve a trip to the vet for a skin scraping. good luck.

my dog does the same thing..shes a bichon.
We went to the vet and they said it was because of skin allergies or skin irritation from food.
or just the weather
