still live at home, i am 24. I pull my wieght wround the house (cooking and cleaning since my mother is the most undomestic person in the world). I have 3 younger brothers...19,21,23.

It seems like NO ONE has a house key and since we all work different hours i seem to be the one home while all of them plus my mom come home and knock on the door and ring the bell. I try to ignore it cuz its annoying. I wait like 4 minutes before i go downstairs and pretend i was in the bathroom or shower. My mom gets mad, like it is my responsibility. My brothers even call me at 3 in the AM to let them in! I try to ignore the calls.

I sent my family a nice email and suggested that everyone try to remember keys or have them made becasue it i have become the one responsible for letting them in. Instead of being supportive, my mom acts like a b*&^% to me and tells me she doesnt even want to talk about it. Unbelievable.

Should i ust hop in the shower whenever someone starts knocking?

I cant even take a nap becasue EVERYDAY someone is pounding on the door...i also included in the email that eveyone forgets their keys sometimes, including me, but it seems NO ONE has their keys ever!!

My mom is just being a jerk for the sake of being a jerk and instead of whining, i just want to ignore them at the door by hopping in the shower.

no, tell them to their faces, that they are old enough to take care of them selfs, or they are so old and have no life, that they are the most mentally retarted ppl ever. tell them that next time one of them shows up on the door step, ur going to make faces out the window and leave them to freeze in the biter cold, while ur next to a warm cozy fire, thinking about how nice it is to not hear the door bell ever 3 seconds. good luck.

When the time comes that they'll be coming home, for a week or more leave the house before they get there, make sure to take your house key with you and stay gone for an hour or more. Let them be locked out. Bet they remember to take their keys with them next time.

My answer would be no. This is because they are your family, but, just so they just so they get the picture, for Christmas, I would go to this key shop and buy them all keys to the house. It might tick your mom off but she needs to know how you feel without interupting to whine. You need to tell her to shut up and listen to you so she actually knows what the heck is going on! And if she does sitll yap and complain, I would start saving up to buy your own house and show them what it's like to have a number of people who can't let themselves in with a key or they can just be locked out.

Try leaving the door unlocked, while you are up and around. That way they, and the burglars, can get in. Outside of that start looking for a place of your own.

I think you should move out. You are an adult and shouldn't be dealing with this crap. Get your own place! If you can't afford your own place, then this is the price you pay for free shelter.

Get your own place. You don't live at home - you live in your mom's home.
