What's Aztlan?

A lot of people mention this word in this immigration forum, but what is it? A group? A place?

But about "La Raza" - anything to do with "Aztlan?"

LaRaza is a large Hispanic run organization that teaches of Aztlan, a fictional place they claim is their ancestral home located in the southwestern part of the USA. You have to study up on it. Go to these websites and read about this bullcrap. LaRaza and MEChA are actually SPONSORED by OUR OWN government and other American organizations. (The Ford Foundation~not the motor company, The Carnegie Institute, etc.)

The myth of Aztlan can best be explained by California's Santa Barbara School District's Chicano Studies textbook, "The Mexican American Heritage" by East Los Angeles high school teacher Carlos Jimenez. On page 84 there is a redrawn map of Mexico and the United States, showing Mexico with a full one-third more territory, all of it taken back from the United States. On page 107, it says "Latinos are now realizing that the power to control Aztlan may once again be in their hands."

Its Aztec ( the word for Aztec Indians). People think it's Mexican but Mexican is Spanish mixed with either Aztec Indian or Mayan.

Aztecs know they came from and it's Tenochtitlan. (This isn't The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. Now)

Aztlan is now considered a culture like Hip Hop, but followed by Mexicans who believe their Aztec/Spanish.

many people claim it to be the area that was once mexico or the area that still is mexico, but the truth is, not only was it never mexican land, but aztec land, but the area that is known as aztlan is actually in the east of america, not the west, as many believe

now days, ancient aztecs only live in mexico and practice diluted versions of their culture, as their former culture was erased by the spanish conquorers.

so my question, for those who forgot it, is: did you know this?
