I used to be a vet. technician, so I would recommend a oatmeal shampoo. Oatmeal is soothing to their skin just as when people have chicken pox, oatmeal is a natural skin releiver. Human shampoos dries out their skin. Also, a little bit of veggie oil over their food will help their coat. If you have a cat a little veggie oil on the paws helps hairballs.

try a different diet. AND/OR get some supplements for skin and coat from your Vet. My dogs use 3V Skin Caps with Omega 3, Vit A, D and E. That has helped them a lot. Also a healthy diet. Wheat is a major allergen for many dogs. Try to find a food that is without wheat as an ingredient. Nature's Recipe Venison and Rice is a good one, as is Dick Van Patten's Venison and potato.
Venison is an alternative meat for dogs that allergy prone dogs tend to tolerate well.
Don't bathe your dog more than once a month or at least every three weeks. Continue to use the oatmeal shampoo designed for dogs. Here's a recipe for dog shampoo I made myself and it really put a shine in my dogs coats:
1 extra stout guiness beer
3 egg yolks
1/2 cup puppy tearless shampoo
1 cup cooked instant oatmeal
1/4 cup aloe vera gel
1 tsp Vit E oil
Blend together in a blender for a few minutes and then bathe the dog with the shampoo mixture.

The very best thing you can do for her dry skin is give her a salmon oil capsule daily. I give them to my dogs and their skin, even in the very dry and cold winter weather, is great and their coats are unbelievably silky. Failing that, give her veg. oil on her food daily. I don't know the size of your dog, a small dog would get about 1 teaspoon, up to 1 tablespoon for a larger dog.

Also, make sure you're not bathing her often - that's very drying.

i would try a teaspoon of vegetable oil on her dog food, i was told by my vet to do that for my dog who had dry skin, it cleared up really fast. he/she might also have a skin condition, i would bring him/her in JUST incase. my chihuahua had a skin condition and had to get metabin dips once every 2 weeks for like 25 dollars. definently bring her/him in if this continues
