Melt some butter with chopped garlic, chopped green onion, coarse black pepper and salt, place steaks in a ziplock, pour in marinade, and let set in fridge until you can't stand it any more. (or 1hr. to overnight, whicever comes first. Grill and enjoy.

a good all around marinade that I like for beef, or chicken is plain old zesty italian salad dressing. it tendetrizes and gives a good flavor, leave it to soak covered for a day or even two.
