Well, HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a virus and AIDS (Acquired Immune deficiency Syndrome). I do not know much about it, but AIDS is after a person with HIV becomes ill with other conditions (eg. tuberculosis) and then has AIDS because any single condition that is contracted by a person who is HIV positive can set this into full blown AIDS and in turn kill the person because of immunity or lack there of.

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that attacks the immune system and damages it. A damaged immune system cannot fight germs well.
There are many stages during the HIV infection. AIDS is an advanced HIV stage. AIDS stands for Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome. "Acquired" means that it is given by someone else as opposed to being something that just happens. "Immunodeficiency" means that the immune system is weak. "Syndrome" means a group of conditions.
AIDS is diagnosed when the immune system is weak, as shown by a CD4 count of less than 200 cells/milliliter, or by the presence of certain opportunistic infections (for example, pneumocystis carinii pneumonia, and fungal infection of the esophagus), tumors or wasting. AIDS is the condition that results from HIV after it has done significant damage to the immune system.
A person who is HIV positive (meaning a person who has HIV) does not necessarily have AIDS, but a person who has AIDS is HIV positive. If a person has been diagnosed with AIDS as some point in their lives, the diagnosis of AIDS as opposed to HIV positive alone will remain even if there is a significant improvement in their health status.

I learnt about this, i kinda forgot though. I think HIV is the virus, and Aids is when it has actually affected you, like the actual disease itself. I think HIV stands for human immunodeficiency virus (i think) and Aids is Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome. That's what I can remember.

HIV is the virus that impairs your immune system, AIDS is the condition where your immune system is compromised. Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome. HIV attacks your body's ability to recognize infection. Once the immune system is compromised, an opportunistic infection, likely something living in you, that is normally in check, can severely weaken you or kill you.

HIV is the causative agent whereas AIDS is the consequence, there are somthing else that can cause AIDS like leukeamia. your picture indicates you might be a HIV positive human, because it's so weird, you biological age is about 12 and your mental age is about 7, see if i guess it right.
