This is 2006 already, not 1956. We love it when you ask us out. Is he really the type of guy that would spread rumors or is this just her nervousness? If he really has done that kind of thing, it's not someone she should be getting involved with. Otherwise if she just CAN'T bring herself to ask him out, tell her to walk up to him and say "I would really like it if you asked me out". We love that too.

I'm always flatered on the rare occasions that has happened. Since I know what it feels like to be rejected I will never say no unless I have an unbreakable previous commitment which I will explain and ask if an alternate time is ok. I have also always asked any girl who went to the trouble to ask me out for a second date. Hell that takes courage and she deserves at least that. Some work out some don't. If he says no then he is no gentleman and not worth a second thought on her part.

Well what I believe is why shouldn't she ask him out, I mean she'll never know the truth of how he feels about her unless she talks to him. Maby she's rushing it but it's how life sometimes is. If she's rejected just let her know how many other guys are out there, that are worth the asking out. If he spreads rumors, why shall it matter that just proves he's just a jerk.

of course a girl can ask a guy out. granted many people are still very old fashioned.....you'd be surprised how many guys find it attractive that the girl made the first move. the worst that can happen is that he says no...if he's as great as she thinks he is then she shouldn't worry about him spreading rumors...if she's that worried about the rumors then he isn't worth it...

ok. if she really likes him, she must be really worked up about him and probably can't get him off her mind. just remember to tell her that there are a BAGILLION fish in the sea. what i mean by that is that if she likes him, then she should ask him out.
if he doesn't like her, then just MOVE ON. shrug it off. at first it may be hard, but you've gotta remember that you can't let the little things in life get you down. It's just one guy, and if he's a decent guy, he won't go around spreading rumors about your friend. and if he does, just ignore it. the more it bothers your friend, the more people will talk about it. eventually, it will wear out.but remember that there are probably 200 guys at your school that she could date, so she can't let one guy bring her down. you should be very supportive of your friend, and just because ONE guy doesn't want to date her, that doesn't mean that EVERYONE doesn't like her. it's OK to be turned down by a guy. in fact, getting turned down by a guy can be a good experience, because then she knows that he doesn't like her and it won't bother her anymore.
but if he does want to go out with her, then YAY! good for her! I think that she should go ahead and ask him out. it'll be for her own good.
I hope i helped, and tell your friend that i wish her luck!

In this day and age, I do believe there is nothing wrong with women asking men out. However, no one like to be rejected, so before she puts it all on the line, have her get to know him and find out if there is even an attraction there. (And I hope she likes him for reasons other than his popularity, hotness, ect....)

Yes, its unfair how boys have to ask girls out all the time. At my school most long lasting relation ships start when a girl asks the boy. So i say go for it!!!!!
