Atheists have this in common with Christians: We want what is best for humanity as a whole. However, we disagree on what that is. Atheists personally believe that religious beliefs are harmful, and we try exposing them as such. So Christians, can you understand that it isn't anything personal with you and that we are only working for what is best?

This is honestly a question and not a statement. If anyone is to disagree, I would like to know why.

I do grasp that. Most atheists and Christians are this way.
I am thankful to you atheists that just tell me that you think that my beliefs are false and or harmful and leave it at that. It shows that you care about me,but you still respect me enough to let me live my life the way I want to.

first if you don't believe in god why answer questions pertaining to all things spiritual.!! second just like a loaded gun in the hands of a three year old child ,so is the truth of god in the hands of a untrained and untaught person. so if you don't beleive, that's fine, but at least get your facts straight on the subject and not let your emotions be the basis for your decisions when reasoning what the truth in god is all about. because you must first understand the gospel then you can move on and understand the importance of it. that is what we as christians want. we are not here to save the world we are just here to spread the good news.( 1 corinthians 15:1-4)

I can see what you are saying. I appreciate your respect. But it occurs to me that not believing in God isn't the same thing as trying to proselyte that belief to others.

And by the way, when I try to share my beliefs, I don't usually do it by claiming that others' beliefs are wrong. People like their beliefs and generally aren't willing to listen if you simply tell them that they're wrong. Perhaps that's why you're finding your approach is causing hurt feelings.

(I also believe that truth has a good "ring" to it, and the things that you are trying to share don't have that ring, so I wouldn't be surprised if people weren't jumping up and down about it.)

WoW! It's so interesting that this is the first time believers have heard that atheists feel this way: that their beliefs are harmful and we want the best for society.......Thank you for verbalising this for me. I have had a difficult time trying to explain this point of view in words.,,,and I'm usually so good with words too....anyway.
Thanks.

That is not the case though. I don't hear people saying, what you believe is nauseating... I hear Christians are so nauseating... Stuff like that all the time. I rarely hear an Aethiest not attacking me personally when I post. Just look at my questions.

The post above mine makes it hard to make a point. christians should not be calling people morons, and neither should ANYONE.

You are working for what's best for Lucifer and his minions. A body without a spirit is dead just as a world without religion is dead. Athiesim is not working for what's best for the world, if you believe that you are deceived and have condemned yourself. You can choose to believe this or not, but I will say this: Righteousness will prevail in the end and every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is the Christ. This come straight from my heart.

Religious beliefs started morality in general. It's like a BIG circle. The Ten commandments started it all..thats truely the root of your belief. Religion is bad in the hands of radicals, but to the ones who respect others opinions and beliefs it's good. I say let people believe what they want to believe. If it gives them a sound mind and a center then so be it!

The problem is, denying Christ will ultimately result in your eternal separation from Him in hell. This is why we work to show that atheism isn't right, and that, in fact, Christianity is the only way into heaven bc it is the only way to remove sin. Thus, atheism is harmful bc it means that you never follow Christ, and your sins aren't forgiven. So, atheism isn't what's best, bc it results in the atheist going to hell for their sin.

The basis of Christianity as professed by Jesus is to Love Each other.
So what is harmful in loving each other?
Christians are sinners who sometimes fall short of the new commandment but there is no evil in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Name one.

Well it's difficult when a couple of morons try to answer a believers question with "God isn't real, anyway...so get over it"
They want answers from other believers..not a shake in the faith.

But yes, I understand your point....
