Yes, there is some strange, inane questions and answers, but I think that's to be expected. I don't think everyone is becoming brain dead. I've seen some very well thought out, articulate answers.
Even weird questions can be beneficial because it makes people consider alternative views and that is beneficial.

Perhaps brain dead is not their problem (well some of them anyway) But I was thinking, part of the problem is that this is a global site and some people don't speak or write English very well. As for spelling. I noticed that the spell check on the questions only checks the top line not the details.
As pathetic as it sounds there are also loads of people(????) who ask absurd questions to see who will try and give them a serious answer. These people have nothing else to amuse themselves with.
As for being brain dead... We are answering these questions!!!!

yes some of the questions are pretty much OUT THERE
but on the plus side there are also good questions asked
i try to ignore the strange ones
