How did you win? Did you enter a contest? If it is a company you never heard of- it is probably a scam. Also do NOT participate in anything where you have to pay any money or give them personal info such as Social Security Number to claim your prize.

my wife got the same thing today. it has SCAM written all over it. She "won" $784799.99, but needs to pay $19.50 to "release" it.

The not so fine print on the back says that you have 1:1 odds of winning $0.78 !!!

So $19.50 - $.78 = you $18.72 poorer.

If you feel like wasting a 39¢ stamp, send it back without a check, but a note saying that they can take the $19.50 out of your winnings because both you and they know you're good for it.

I got the very same thing recently, and they wanted money to tell me where I had won the prize, it is a scam. These places get our names from using the internet...

Because people don't just contact people they don't know and tell them they won something.
